Housing restrictions on Newly Added Servers (A suggestion/request.)

Hi all,

here I wanted to put forth a request from a newly moved Twintania player. Basically, me and my friends moved from our old server for personal reasons. Hearing about this wait time before housing wards will become available was good news to me, as it means not only those who rushed to switch over in the early hours get a chance at owning a plot!
However, it also makes me a little worried. Back on our old server, we had a big FC house with our friends, and I also had my own personal house. Now we expected to be able to replace said FC, and I was hoping that on a new world, I could get a private house for myself and my friends again, as well. I fear it will not be possible to get a plot however, as I remember the floodgates opening of Shirogane, where 90% of the plots were gone after barely 30 minutes, people were falsely reported for botting by others out of spite, and some players actually did only get their houses because they used the help of a bot program. A lot of people were dissatisfied with the situation back then, and a lot of backlash followed.
Now, I would like to humbly request that when the housing wards do get opened on Spriggan and Twintania, that Free Companies would get a first chance at buying plots- however, I think people that left their plots on another server before moving should be included in this as well. A lot of people moved to have a fresh start, but they left their houses with a heavy heart, as players usually put a lot of effort into their decorating and making their house their own little home.
I know a lot of people will probably disagree with this, but I figured it was worth bringing forth this request for your consideration anyway, and accept any backlash it might bring towards me. Considering that there seems to be a way of tracking who left their plot on their old server in place already- providing said players with the full reimburstment of their plots initial buying price- it seems possible to me to keep track of said players for this purpose as well. Let's have a healthy discussion on the topic, and I look forward to meeting all my fellow new and refugee Twintania players!

When Shirogane released, it was just one housing district of 12 wards. You will have the advantages of Spriggan and Twintania opening housing for 4 separate housing districts with 18 wards each. On Cactuar, when Wards 13~18 were added, I remember the Lavender Beds being completely free for the picking when it came to housing that morning (even after I was in a queue of ~300 because I was spamming the launcher)—which was how my FC managed to get a house, and I managed to relocate my personal small into probably one of the best medium plots in the game.

That said, I don’t disagree with giving FCs priority the first two weeks, but, if they do that, I don’t think that they can also include “prior homeowners from other servers” priority as well. When personal housing opened after Wards 13~18 released, the plots on my server weren’t all full within 30 minutes (it actually took a few days for the Goblet to even sell out), so I think people who want a personal plot will still be able to get one on these servers without too many issues. Even if it’s not their number one dream plot, it will still be better than nothing.

that is a good point. I just wish it wasn't a 'settling for second best' situation for anyone. Maybe it is time we got instanced housing, and even if it's just for apartments. (especially if those had medium and large options, I think there would be less of a hassle)
I know some plots are more highly revered than others, but yeah.

I agree with the free companies getting first crack, but only 24 hrs, they'll have plenty of time to build up an FC before then. After that, open the gate. I don't think there is a good way to separate players who had a house before and those who didn't.

The problem with letting FC's go first (even tho now players don't have homes to relocate so it would actually only be FC's) is that people will abuse it. People will make temporary FC's to either sell them for relocation later at insane prices or use it to relocate themselves if they manage to grab a small somewhere when it's open for everyone.
