Isn't it spammy enough for you ? It was even marketed in the Job Action trailer before we even knew how Requiescat and Holy Spirit would synergize.
Except that wasn't the optimal use of the buffs at all. Looking at job action trailer for pointers "how to use the skill" is hilarious - they always only show off how things look, not what the rotation should be. By that Logic DRK should only use 2 BS' in new Delirium lol. You only used 6 gcds when you could've fit in 9, good job.

The actual bursts on WAR(yes bursts because we had different rotation for raw zerk and for zerk+IR) looked something like this:

Which as you see is definitely not "press same button 5 times in a row". That is also disregarding all the gauge management required outside of those windows in order to make them work - heck we even used Butcher's Block combo in downtime occasionally, in cases when that extra 10 gauge from Path would be wasted otherwise.

Except that the meme of "spamming the same skill" has nothing to do with optimal use. It became a gimmick before the release of Stormblood.

Of 8 GCD during Inner Release, 6 of them are Fell Cleave, come on…

How does it have anything to do with "Oh, wow ! WAR can chain 6 Fell Cleave, awesome !" Are you really trying to explain how a meme is invalid because it's not 100% accurate and optimal ?

Y: I usually compare FFXIV with a theme park, but the Forbidden Land of Eureka won’t be a place where everyone would want to go. For example, there are people who don’t want to go to horror houses because they don’t see the point in getting scared on purpose. For example, on a date, the boyfriend might want to invite the girlfriend to go the horror house, but the girlfriend just doesn’t seem to find it fun. In other words, it’s not like everyone wants to go to the horror house, but there are people who just love the adrenalin rush they get from it. Think of Eureka as something like that.

The thread(and the post you responded to) isn't about a "meme", but about an actual gameplay mechanic that's slapped on 3 out of 4 tank jobs. Mechanic which was optimal use of Req on PLD since the skill's inception in 4.0 and hasn't been an actual thing on WAR until 4.2.
So yeah, Requiscat was first, stop trying to move goal posts.

Also just because old IR had a lot of Fell Cleaves in it too, doesn't make it the same or even similar, because you weren't just spamming it 5 times in a row with zero thought. There was a specific order in which you had to press your skills, both spending and increasing gauge, to actually make it all click.
The management outside of burst was part of it too, because it meant the entire rotation flowed together. There was build up and then burst, another build up and another, bigger burst, not just doing whatever for 80 seconds and then spamming one button for 10, with barely any connection between the two phases. It was both far more engaging and also very thematically fitting for WAR's battle rage aesthetic.

New Delirium is closer to Inner Release than it is to Requiescat.

If Inner Delirium required you to have 80%+ MP and enabled a ranged magic spell we'd all be saying it's been copy/pasted across from Paladin, but it doesn't, so we don't.

If Dark Knights new party shield required boosting with your own CD's we wouldn't all be going "oh look at this rip off of Divine Veil!"

It's not a matter of who came first, it's a matter of which one it's obviously a copy of.
