Burst just means you're able to cram a lot of damage into a small buff window. How you get to that damage doesn't have to be the same across all jobs at all.
PLD:
Avenging Wrath (uh, get the reference?): Upgrades from Fight or Flight via a trait. Increases your damage done by 20% for X seconds and enables to use of Confiteor. XY% of the damage you deal is added to your next Confiteor. Casting Confiteor downgrades the effect to Fight or Flight.
With this, Confiteor becomes this ungodly huge and satisfying nuke you drop when the burst window is just about to close. You can balance the total damage you do during Avenging Wrath to be around equal to WAR's IR window, yet both jobs would be achieving that damage in different ways.

Can’t wait to see them turn all the classes like this. But in all seriousness the way classes are played are always changing each expansion. I see why they gave DRK the burst window, since dark arts spam is gone, the new delirium is there to fill the void.
Some people like to do burst damage with pressing something many times.
Some enjoy fighting with flawed to the core design in order to squish most from it.

Ok, but what do you do for the next 80 seconds? After u've done that cool and powerful burst ability? You just do that boring eye-path rotation and hit like a wet noodle until IR is up again, the only thing you care about is not overcaping on rage which is a no-brainer already. The reason why pld's spam burst is more or less redeemable is cause you have 2 bursts: physical and magical(that holly spirit spam), and you juggle them in your rotation, and it feels busy, like you are doing something meaningful, when you are not spamming holly spirit. While warrior just feels like 1 trick pony now. You can say its fun and call it the ultimate ability, but i think its a pretty bad design if you can experience that fun only every 80 seconds while playing the job. idk, maybe it seems bad to me only because i've experience old warrior too, i can see why new people really enjoy it, but to me the job overall seems way less fun nowadays.Spam burst windows are satisfying when you turn them on and land things on a enemy target.
