    Not all jobs have to play exactly the same. I’d rather have AST not play like a WHM with weaker heals and weak cards, personally. Or have every healer spam 1 DoT and 1 filler spell—from an AST main, let me tell you how utterly boring that is. If it weren’t for the card juggling, I’d be bored to tears with my DPS rotation. Too bad they made the mechanic I enjoyed the most about AST braindead and unimaginative. I enjoyed the multi-DoT upkeep on SCH and WHM...but that’s going away in ShB as well.

    And it doesn’t seem like tanks really appreciate DRK getting Inner Delirium, because it feels unimaginative as well.

    Not all jobs have to play 100% the same. You’re going on and on about the meta, but I’m not even talking about the meta. I’m talking about each job feeling different. Not just the same job with different skills.


    Re 2.0 WAR: 2.0 WAR was absolute trash. They’ve been buffing it and making it the best tank ever since.

    I'd like BLU to be a full Job

    But also with them seemingly removing some of the more time oriented skills off of Astro, I could see a Time Mage potentially, and I think it could be pretty cool, more support oriented caster like dancer revolving around keeping haste up on certain party members and themselves, whilst throwing comets and quake in its downtime, I could think of some full movesets for them, but it would be cool in general to get an another Iconic Caster in (without butchering it this time like with BLU)

    It's hard to say for PLD exactly because the 5.0 changes are great adn I'll need to really play it to get a solid idea of what might need improving from here.

    This will never happen but I'd love it if they split the aetherflow/plague dot/tactician elements of arcanist into another job altogether with summoner becoming more of as summoner with each expansion, it feels like it's taking over the parts of the job I liked about ARR and HW smn.

    I'd like healers to have a few more offensive buttons brought back. They shouldn't have dps rotations as compelx as a dps, but 'dot, nuke, aoe nuke' is kind of boring in situations where you're doing solo content or there just isn't much healing to be done.

    I'd love to see a Geomancer as a healer, I have a feeling they might sling it in at 5.5.

    BUT, to be honest, I want Chemist to be the next Healer, fun, unique, with a hand-cannon that shoots potions! =D [Look at my little concept below]

    DPS? I'd love to see a Great Hammer job, I say Mystic Knight, even if it isn't a Tank, maybe a fun new Magic hybrid with big hammers. Could be the Dark Knight I've always wanted.

    If we followed the recurring job logic, we'd be stuck with very few jobs. Most FF to date skip the Job system and have characters based on combining different classes and gimmicks. Jobs like Astrologian, Dancer or Gunbreaker wouldn't be in the game.

    Chemist has appeared in FFT, FFX as Rikku (Who is a mix of Thief/Monk/Chemist), FFX-2 (As Alchemist Dress Sphere), FFTactics Advance and Tactics Advance 2 (As Alchemist for Nu Mou races)- And while the gimmick is indeed the use of Healing items, they also use the action "Mix" which allows them to produce potent effects by combining items.

    I don't think FFXIV is clear enough about what is magical and what isn't in terms of visuals given the splendor of a lot of physical moves, witch huge explosions, freezing slashes and whatnot. I can't see why a character wouldn't be able to "empower" mixtures with her/his own ether and shoot them at party members. Imagine Ana from Overwatch- She shoots healing charges from a distance.

    Does Machinist conflict with Blacksmith? They use metal ammunitions, machines and engineering- They could be an engineer crafting class. Alchemist is just the one that produces the stuff and the Chemist is the one that uses the stuff in battle. If you don't like the name , it could allways be renamed to "Medic" or "Pharmacist".

    For 6.0 (or half way there) what I want is a Necromancer (either healer or dps) with a 2-handed scythe weapon, and a Beastmaster.

    Also, please skillchains and Magic Bursts. Bring that to the game because it's so much fun.

    I know how you feel there. One of the things that would make each job unique is the 2-hour skill. Remember in XI? That was something unique to each job and amazing. I wish it they put it in this game as well.

    Also, skillchains and magic bursts. One can dream.

    I want either a green mage, time mage or chemist as the next healer. I want green mage the most. I like maces and how bubble looked in ffxii. Maybe the could use oil as a dot and fire spells for their normal attacks and they could play off each other.

    There’s no job yet that’s fully dedicated to using the 3 elements of nature magic (especially since WHM look to be leaving their CNJ roots far behind) so I’d love for Geomancer to step in and be a caster that is sort of the opposite to Black Mage, loads of manoeuvrability and utility, but a lower damage potential to compensate. Maybe even some more CC and melee options baked into their kit as well to stand out. I really want to be able to cause earthquakes, tornados and floods, those elements really need some love! Aero 2 and Stone just don’t really cut it...

    Chemist or Necromancer for healer. We really need a healer that will break the current mould of happy light/faerie/star magic and bring some science or death magic in to shake things up!
