    6.0 job wishes and expectations

We're far out from 6.0 -indeed, 5.0 hasn't been released yet!- except, you know, they will probably start working on the major 6.0 content elements within two patches of time (for reference, Yoshida said one of the 5.0 races started work in 4.1).

I'd really like a healer with a non-feminine image, and a tactically interesting pet job with severe micromanagement. Beat Scholar and Paladin's 38+ buttons!

What I expect is that we'll get two DPS: one that uses scouting gear and one that uses maiming. The logic, like it or not, will be on par with how "ranged physical DPS" needed a third job.

I think we get one healer and one dps for 6.0.

For dps I would love puppetmaster but im scared its just going to another one of those "limited" jobs again, if even they consider pup. ( no more limited jobs pls ;_; )

Maybe we get Male Viera and female hrothgar in 6.0 - would be nice, so the drama stops and people get to play what they want to play ^^

Besides that I have no expectations rly.

I don't understand why dancer isn't using Scouting gear.

It probably uses Aiming because it’s a physical ranged (BRD and MCH are physical ranged and use Aiming; NIN is a melee that uses Scouting), and it has both melee attacks and ranged attacks that have to be “aimed” at the target. Makes sense to me, anyways.

Blue Mage as a real caster.

Puppetmaster as a non feminine tactical "pet" healer...

Existing Tanks and Healers get their variety back. Looking very samey right now.

Maiming and Scouting sets are combined with Striking and Aiming respectively.

There's a logical similarity between ninja and dancer though - far more than I see between dancer and (essentially) archer or gunman, which is a very different type of projectile weapon, even if both are "ranged".

Ninja and dancer both rely on physical dexterity and precise movements, and both use some similar ranged weaponry: throwing-knives and shuriken were among the potential weapons mentioned for dancer. Chakrams also inflict slashing damage.

Combined with the potential for balancing the number of classes using each type of gear, Scouting seems like it should have been a good option.

    Chemist

I want Chemist as Healer, main hand is whip, Thier image and battle stance similar to Ferry from Granblue.
They use thier whip to throw potion to teammates.
AOE heal is throw potion on the floor to heal party members like Ana from Overwatch throw her medicine bottle on the floor.

    ...no.

I don't want my Dragoon stuck with the ugly Monk gear. It already annoys me when trying to put together a glamour set for Samurai.

I also fully expect to see Chemist/Pharmacist as a Healer in 6.0 and I'd love to see it implemented. Pharmacist is kind of a classic FF job so I think it could fit for a 'less' magical healer, more of a battle medic.
I could see them using their classic 'Mix' action akin to the Ninja Mudras in order to create different effects, like a strong single target DoT, an AoE DoT, AoE healing (Mega-Potion perhaps?), etc.
Now regarding a weapon, I honestly can't really think of what they could possibly use. Perhaps some kind of blender crossbow? A mortar and pestle?

Alternatively, I could see Green Mage as a healer. They could be a melee healer using a one-handed mace or hammer, specialized on giving defensive buffs around. It would be like the Ying to the Yang that is AST with their offensive buffs. We could get Protect back as a single target strong shield that reduces the incoming damage for a small duration, same for Shell, and perhaps even get Reflect in some way or form. Maybe even get Bubble as a strong oGCD buff that increases the max health of the party for a while? I dunno how all this would work balance wise but when it comes to healers I think we're starting to run out of 'classic' FF jobs, so I'd expect one of those two.

Regarding DPS, we'd still need one more ranged DPS to round out the numbers. That way we'd have 4 tanks, 4 healers, 4 ranged physical, 4-ish magical DPS (not even sure if I should count BLU as a class at this point) and 4 Melee DPS.

I expect the next ranged physical class to be a FFXIV original similar to Astrologian (since we've only gotten this class on Tactics, I think?). Maybe something with a crossbow? Head Hunter or Bounty Hunter, using a crossbow and specializing in 'Killer' attacks (Imagine a non-magical Gun Mage from FFX-2, perhaps).

I could also see another magical DPS coming as I really can't take BLU seriously as a class since we'll never be able to use it like any other class. A Necromancer would be an interesting one as a more 'dark' mage (even though technically BLM is the edgy dark darkness dark mage in the game).
Alternatively, maybe a Geomancer (even though they're closer to a Conjurer in FF14). They could have Seals, like 'Seal of Wind', or 'Seal of Flood', 'Seal of Quake', or just make use of the classic Quake, Flood and Tornado attacks this game is sorely missing, especially now that WHM is starting to move away from the earth, wind and water and go to the more WHM holy attacks.

So, personally, I'd like to see a new Healer for sure, and perhaps a ranged physical or magical. Yes, melee DPS would be left two expansions without a new toy but well.. I suppose they'll feel the pain of all the Healers in 5.0 for once?

Why would your Dragoon be stuck with only Monk gear? Where did I say 'every existing maiming set should be deleted'?
