Do the 5 dollar (on sale games) count for the fat chocobo thing?

Hey everyone, I have a question! Do games like Battlefield 1 (on sale for 5 bucks/normally 20) count for the promotional code? The item description says it does, but I'm curious if anyone has actually received a code from an on-sale product.

I ended up purchasing this anyways, because I'd get 5 bucks out of a random shooter. But I'm still on stand-by if I'll get a code or not.

If it doesn't qualify--then I'll see if I can figure out what to buy. I know a lot of folks are going for the 60 day time-cards, but if you're like me and work on a 6-month plan--it's not exactly the best choice. Doable--but not preferred.

For the promotion to apply at checkout (the OP's example does not show it qualifies at checkout) you must buy one qualifying item priced at $19.99 or above after discounts and before shipping + taxes. When you go to checkout it should mention the black chocobo somewhere on the checkout page before you confirm the purchase.

When checking a reddit thread it mentioned something like Sims 4 being $5 doesn't work towards the DLC. So I don't think Battlefield would work.

I found that after you put the game in your cart at the checkout screen under the product info it should say something like 'DLC promo Fat Black Chocobo'

As long as the original price is $20 or more even if its marked down to $5.

I was incorrect about the $5 games being eligible. I can confirm that if the game is less than $19.99 it wont count even if the original price is $19.99 and its marked down to $4.99. I ordered Battlefield 4 which was on sale for $4.99 instead of the original price of $19.99 and it didn't count even though the item description says it does. I emailed amazon and got a reply to that effect from promotions department.

Has anyone verified this? Someone on one of the recent reddit threads specifically went for one of those deals and was denied a code from their discounted purchase. Unlike the products that are $19.99 above (after all discounts are applied and before shipping & taxes), the items that start off at/above the promotional price that are discounted below it do not show anything on the checkout page in regards to having qualified for the promotion.
