There's no "right" answer to your question, but Maelstrom does have something of a better winrate than the other two. The problem is when enough people realize that, they bandwagon to Maelstrom and it inevitably becomes bogged down with the complacent people that are hoping to be "carried" and not put any effort into learning the objectives or learning how to effectively play their role; not realizing (or caring) that they're part of their own problem. Thus Maelstrom periodically falls into pretty bad "lows" when it accrues enough refugees from Flames and Adders looking for "easy wins;" and this is when I find that Adders usually start to dominate. So you can be patient and stay with Adders; I imagine it won't be long before you experience a spike in winrates- or swap to Maelstrom and possibly find yourself in the same situation for a time because it always gets spurts of those "fair-weather" transfers that dilutes the overall skill level until they seek greener pastures again- usually in Adders. It's a cycle.

And yes, premades do (must) use roulette, but they are forced into Freelancer status. Premades are the exception to observed winrates, because their existence on any team usually greatly increases the cohesion of the team they end up on. Half of the battle of Frontlines is getting the rest of your team on the same page- made easier when one-third of the alliance is actively leading the rest and farming battle-highs/fevers.
