Fps Drops Issue

Hello!

With the expansion coming, and everybody optimizing their computers, I was wondering what the extent of my computer's capabilities are.

I tried adjusting the graphics to see how far I can push them, and when setting them up on Maximum, I noticed that while I can reach 60 fps and stay on that value, in crowded areas, but also in large wilderness areas such as the Azim Steppes, it would drop to 45 fps and hover between 45 and 50 fps.

Following the system requirements list, my computer is built as follows:

CPU Intel core i7-4771 3.50 ghz

RAM 16GB

OS Windows 10

VIDEO CARD GeForce GTX 960

My question is, should I be experiencing this kind of fps? Is it possible to get it to stay at a stable 60?

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

How long have you been experiencing FPS drops. Have ay updates or changes been made to the PC? Has the resolution been changed at all? Could you also provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

As per how long I have been experiencing the fps drops, I believe as long as Stormblood release. I mostly played on Standard settings for optimal performance, and just now started looking into this.

No updates or changes have been made to PC, the only thing I did update recently was the Nvidia driver for the video card as it hadn't been updated in a long while.

No changes were made to the resolution.

Thank you for the update Dailonihil. I apologize for the delay in our response.

The graphical requirements for Shadowbringers will be very similar to Stormblood. The kind of performance you are seeing now seems normal for your hardware and is likely what you'll be seeing for the new expansion.

If you want to improve your FPS, you will need to lower some graphical settings. Ambient Occlusion, Reflections and Parallax Occlusion tend to have the biggest impact on FPS.
