I think bad content is worse than no content at all. I also think it drives players away more. At least people can hope that good content is on the way, while bad content makes the developers look inept.
These side quests are garbage, and so are the events like the Dalmund events. Does anyone enjoy them? And if you do, what the hell is wrong with you to like something that terrible?
It is such a waste of development to put in quests just for the sake of having them, and if simply loading up on junk content is their idea of turning this game around for 2.0 I'm afraid it won't make the impact they are hoping.
I don't care about cutscenes or dialogue. But every quest in this game currently suffers from these 3 issues, they are:
- Not challenging
- Not unique/fun (which can substitute for challenging in some cases like it did in XI)
- Not rewarding (though even if they were without the first two they'd still be unacceptable)
This makes them pointless. Even the main quests. The cutscenes are the only thing that make those bearable. But as content they are just terrible.
