If you want to complain strictly about compulsory cutscenes for the sake of complaining about compulsory cutscenes, there are fifty other threads where you can do that. This one is just about DR:MSQ, and solution is simple: run something else.

You can play other parts of the game if you don't want to play that part of the game because it's optional content, so not a red herring. No one is forcing you to watch cutscenes because those cutscenes only appear if you choose to do that optional content or watch them with unending journey.
