Will bards ever "sing" and play instruments

Too late, it already is. In fact it's worse since you can only do one song instead of two.

Consider this zet. In xi a bard with out a instrument of any type was only able to support one song as well.
as it is now Barcher is with out there barb. Perhaps once you guys have access to your bow from cybertron you just might have the ablity to keep two buffs up

Instead of clogging up BRD inventory with sub weapons and instruments etc, simply have the songs you learn come with the instrument itself animation wise.

Example if you use Ballad, the BRD pulls out a harp and plays on it while song is cast, if you use Minuet the BRD plays a lute etc.

Because one measly subweapon is going to clutter your 200 slot inventory with even more storage on your retainer right?

They could be rainbow-light instruments that you conjure with your fabulousness.

BRD is a sorely needed Support job. Everything about it is a plus.

If you want damage then wait for musketeer or play WAR (WAR does shitloads of destruction).

BRD has to exist tho: Mages need mp sustainment from a reliable source-this allows for more complicated/involving battles.

Let's face it: tank n mages exist symbioticly, if you drop either from the party equation during an intense battle... Defeat occurs-support classes like BRD keep tanks n mages top shape so they can continue to support the pty

I'll keep saying it. It should have been archer -> ranger

You keep saying and that is the point. By the way who is to say it won't be Ranger in the future as well considering classes are going to become more than one job in the future. Bard is far more useful at this point in the game for party play. Also Musketeer is due out and it could also be made into a Ranger. Guns are much better for Ranger imo.
