(PS4) Macro issues with single target heal spells

Note: Only tested on ACN and AST, will be using "Physick" to demonstrate.

    Date & Time: June 16, 2019
    Frequency: Always
    World name: Jenova
    Character name: Yesui Noykin
    Race: Au Ra Female (Xeala)
Retainer name: None (does not affect)
    NPC name: None
Monster name: Any (have not found a monster this doesn't happen against yet)
    Class/Level: Arcanist Lv 25, Astrologist lv 30
Party or solo: Both. Solo is usually with carbuncle and/or chocobo companion, Party size ranges from 2-4
In-game time: irrelevant (in game time has no influence)
Area and coordinates: Appears to be all (so far tested in areas containing mobs lower than level 30, including dungeons)
    Housing: N/A
    Steps:
    1. Open Macro UI
    2. Create new macro (name doesn't matter)
    3. Add the following lines to macro commands:
    /micon "Physick"
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <t>
    3. Save and set macro to hotbar
    4. Enter battle
    5. Target party member/companion/pet
    6. Caste new macro
Physic will be cast on player instead of target
    Note:
Outside battle, target WILL be healed as intended
Targeting enemy will result in target's target being healed as intended

    7. Create new macro (name doesn't matter)
    8. New commands:
    /micon "Physick"
    /ac "Physick" <t>
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    9. Save changes and set to hotbar
    10. Get into battle
    11. Target enemy who is targeting party member/pet/companion
    12. Cast new macro
Player will be healed instead of "target's target"
    Note:
Targeting Party Member/pet/companion will work as intended

    Additional info:
I have tested this against a range of skills and it seems to only affect single target heal skills. I haven't been able to confirm with Esuna yet, but Benedic 1-3, Physick, and Essential Divinity all seem to be affected. Casting Protect has been difficult to confirm.

This is working as intended. Healing spells will always be directed at yourself while targeting a hostile enemy.

Macros read each line very quicky, sometimes your console/pc can miss a command. In this case though, when your first line is "/as Physick <t>" It will always try to heal you if you're targeting an enemy. It will only do <tt> if it skips that first line due to your character being busy.

Avoid any macro that directly affects your Spell or Weaponskill skills.

You have to get used to the targeting in this game to heal.

My advice for you is to go into System Configuration settings, Game pad settings, button configuration, then make your R3 or L3 [Pressing down on the analog sticks] set to Assist.

Assist means "Target the Target of my Target" just like <tt>. So you can use the downpad to easily target your tank, then assist to quickly retarget the boss. In larger scale things, where the boss isnt targeting a party member you can also press assist to heal them, then assist again to get back to targeting the enemy.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense... Very disappointing.

Hmmm. I will keep that in mind and give it a try. Thank you for the advice.

Note mouseover macros work if you use a mouse, however you can only use /ac "Physick" <mo>, adding a <t> line will give the same issue.

You could also try something like:

    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <tt>
    /ac "Physick" <t>

so if it skips a few lines due to pressing it too early, it'll still catch a <tt> around line 3-4. Can't guarantee that actually works but worth a shot.
