I heard a movie adaption is in production, the original cast will be changed.

Other than that, there's no other news relating to 'Dad of Light'.

It would be amazing if we got another season of this show. With all the garbage shows being made these days, we need more wholesome shows like Dad of Light.

From what I hear, yes. A drama show, about a dad hanging around with his kid by playing FF XIV with him (and possibly not playing particularly well).

It's not really a drama, more of a mini-series.

The background is that it's based off a real story. There is a blogger named Maidy who keeps a blog about playing FF14 (among other things). I don't want to spoil it, but something shocking happens in his life, and to help cope, he introduces his father to FF14 (his father used to play video games with him as a kid).

The powers that be at SE noticed the blog and were moved by the story, so they helped to get it produced as a mini-series.

And yes, now a movie version just came out in Japan.
