Well....it did.
Anyways, Kotaku is not the only place that thinks this game sucks. In fact, Massively and Siliconera are the only places that I know of that not only often have news about the game, but also at the very least don't make silly jokes about it.
I really hope SE has a good plan to change this view before 2.0 release, or else this game will fail no matter how much it changes.

Everyone knows that once an MMO gets a bad name it never recovers, if FFXIV does indeed recover it will be the first one.
SE should have known this before they balls it up and launched with an unfinished product.
Kotaku: lol
There's a reason people call it slowtaku. I wouldn't be surprised if their knowlege about the game comes from the beta.
But really, we're probably not going to see any strong intrest outside of 3 events:
2.0 trailer at E3
2.0 release
PS3 release
It's not white knighting, but Kotaku isn't exactly the greatest source anymore these days. They're definitely popular, but just because they have popularity doesn't mean they know shit about shit.
Kotaku is still considered a joke.
They should stick to copying their news from other sites because every time they post an opinion article they show that they know nothing about games, and it's usually just some ignorant praises about the popular games and trash talk on the less popular (as you can see here).
Just look at this BS, they don't bother getting a guy that knows about the game he is playing to do a review so he just jokes about how weird he thinks everything is. It gives a bad name to the people that actually do their research before they play a game to give a review.

I mostly just read Destructoid for my gaming news now.

LOL. Here's a video with all of the battle themes:

Not even close. The only thing XIII has going for it is modern sound production.
oh Kotaku how sad you are, it seems to still be the "cool thing" to base on FFXIV, even if you have no clue what you are talking about.
