FF XIV still considered a joke

I dont think FFXII and FFXIII are good games. FFXIV is a very good game and with every patch it gains some more of Final Fantasy feeling. They just think one time bad, forever bad, but thats not the case and in my opinion, this game was never really bad. It just didnt had much content and was full of bugs at the beginning - incomplete. But it has changed very much. I love to play it.

personally I think there is a hidden agenda to keep slamming FFXIV. to all the MMO companys out there it is a threat. Quite easy for them to pay someone at a gaming new site to write a article on "best Final Fantasy games and make sure you give all FF online games bad publicity." Didn't this just happen at IGN a month or so ago? This is simply to get people riled up and remember the bad stuff about the games.
Personally I think SE decision to include Final Fantasy XI and XIV in the main line might have been misjudged. the title of Final Fantasy Online, imo, would have been more appealing to those who wish to play an MMO setting.

I don't know what the joke is exactly, but I will tell you that I would feel embarrassed to recommend the game to my friends. They would play it and laugh at me. /sigh So when they ask me if they should try it out, I usually say, "no you probably shouldn't bother with it". Honestly, not many people could put up with it in its present state.

The correct response to your friends would be, "no not yet, but wait till ver2.0 comes out" that is what I am telling mine.

The person who wrote the article pretty much says upfront he doesn't actually play MMOs. He wrote an article that purported to support every FF game, but his comments about XI and XIV are basically cop outs.

FFXII was political garbage. FFXIII was... meh. Good music though. But still meh.

Ones of the things that made my eye twitch was when Gary at Gamebreaker.TV continuously throws the FFXIV CE at his co-host. A few weeks ago on their TWIMMO show he actually wrote "TERA-able" on the box with permanent marker and threw it at his co-host again. Yea, it did bother me, because I can see all the great things SE has been trying to add to the game to make it work. It's just people like Gary and the rest of the world simply close their minds on the video game and won't give it a second chance. I feel that these sites will still give it a bad review after 2.0 is released.
