    Ishgard Reconstruction [lore]

So 5.0 will be the beginning of Ishgard Reconstruction which will be the side-activity for DoH/DoL with DoW/DoM methods of contributing involving the reconstruction of Ishgard Post-Dragonsong war.

What kind of lore advancements do you think we will see and current ones develop through this Lore important side activity for those who wish to continue the lore over Ishgard?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Personally hope to see how Ishgard has changed over the past events when we were not around. Maybe see some more MCH NPCs in the Reconstruction zones since Lore wise the MCH guild been getting many recuits from the low class citizens even before 3.0 story started in hopes of advancing Ishgard's development and to provided opportunity to the lower class citizens in Ishgard's society where only those born of Nobility had a chance to prosper in decent paying careers.

While the machinists' guild should be in a good position at this point in the story, it's variable depending on whether the player has completed the MCH questline or not. From the way they normally handle optional sidequests, I'd be surprised if they pretend it's happened regardless - although we could potentially still get Stephanivien appearing, disconnected from the MCH story, if we need to deal with Skysteel Manufactory as part of the rebuilding. I just wouldn't expect to hear much else of how the guild is going, or see any of the other characters.

If we have recurring characters from elsewhere, I would expect to be dealing with characters who've either been introduced in the MSQ or are standing around the town. I'm hoping Emmanellain and Francel will be involved, and if we're revisiting the Diadem then Aurvael might actually get to do stuff. Edmont will probably make an appearance.

Though if we're dealing with new characters, we're certainly overdue for hearing more from the High House best known for its architectural skill...?

Well, that and being the designated villains in any feud we're aware of between the houses.

Well lore wise MCH Guild was already recruiting members before the WoL joined being mostly the Low class citizens that could not obtain decent paying jobs due to their social status.

Completing the 3.0 MCH Job storyline was the story that got Nobility into joining the MCH guild due to the events peaking interests in Firearms for the Nobility and 4.0 Job storyline is the founding of the MCH being introduced as a Military Gunner Squad for Ishgard.

So there should be a decent amont of MCH among the Lower Class Citizens even if players did not go through the MCH Job Storyline yet since it is mentioned that Stephanivien was very active in recruiting new members among the low class citizens in hopes of the advancement of technology developed by MCH to provide equal opportunity for even the lower class citizens.

There's that good old gate next to Durendaire Manor that's totally not for Ishgard Housing. Though the Pillars weren't really damaged at all during the war, from what I can tell... Probably more likely that "No entry" area Hilda stands in front of will see some use? Or any such area in the Brume I suppose... Would certainly be nice to actually explore the Brume in more depth, since the MSQ in Heavensward kind of... Completely brushed over it? Handful of quests, but for the most part I think we spent most of our time in the Pillars...

Would be a nice touch if completion of the Moogle Daily quests brings in some Mogmenders to help out. Come to think of it, I wonder if any Dravanians will kick around the new area? I'd actually love to see some Dragoon lore fleshed out post-Dragonsong War, see them evolve from Dragon Killers, to working together with them...

Still not-so-secretly hoping Dawn Vigil comes into play with all this at some point too. Only Vigil from 1.0 we've not seen return, I imagine it would make for a perfect housing ward location if housing really is the reward for completing the restoration... Could always just rename it to the Firmament and have it be what we're restoring as well, but then that doesn't really feel like an Ishgard Restoration... Now that I think about it though, sending us down into the Brume and calling the area the Firmament? That's kinda... Odd... With a name like that I'm more incline to think it'll be on some floating island (something something Diadem), though again that's not really an Ishgard Restoration, that's building Ishgard a new Hamlet...
I suspect it is not a new zone but a place we already can go to being the destroyed area in the Foundation being the Brume. That place been in ruins for years and no effort was put into rebuilding that area due to nobility seeing no need to help the low class citizens but with recent changes to Ishgard's policies, it may have open opportunity for projects to rebuild that location.

The promo site for ShB says we will be building a new place called Firmanent. Now, people are right in that we don't know if this is a new zone for Ishgard, or just a new place of interest. But is definitely new. And its name matches the whole "building" aesthetic with "Foundation" and "The Pillars". Actually, since "Firmanent" means roof or sky, I was wondering of they were going to repurpose the vault, or ise a floating island.

Would be cool if they would just give MCH a special nod in recognition from Skysteel interactions.

That gate was used as a back way into the Vault for the post-HW solo mission, although it's possible for it to be reused to lead elsewhere.

The moogle tribe quests are in a similar place to MCH... though likewise with potential for Tarresson to make an appearance, even if the story can't be referenced.
