Requiem for Heros Constant Crash

Every time I talk to the npc, I can't start dialogue with him because it immediately crashes with no errors shown. It just shuts down. I don't know what to do. I thought it was my throttlestop or my graphics card but the game was running fine yesterday and I was doing Alphascape with no trouble. I'll try to hunt for logs, I really want to finish the story.

How long have you been experiencing the crash? What have you tried to alleviate the issue? Do you experience the crash anywhere else in game?

I tried reverting my geforce gtx settings back to default and stopped using Throttlestop but the issue still persists. It doesn't look like any of the other missions cause this crash since I tested the next Alphascape and was able to run it, talk with Cid and initiate cutscenes with no issue. As soon as I talk to the requiem npc to start the quest, I crash again. This issue has only started today, I've been fine with progression over the past few days I've been running it.

Tried again this morning and I got through this time. Not sure what was crashing it still but at least it works!

Managed to get past both fights at the end but now crashing on the final turn in. The new gear isn't showing properly either so when I go to click "complete", it shuts down. Is anyone else having the issue? Should I reinstall? I thought it might be just traffic making it crash so I tried outside of peak hours but it doesn't seem to be the case.

It's possible you have some corrupt files in your install folder. That would explain why it's only this quest you are having trouble with.

I'd suggest reinstalling the game. When you do, make sure you remove the locally saved files (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Make a backup just in case it doesn't resolve the issue.
