    [lore] The Story Dungeon path

    So the Dungeon trailer...

    seen here....

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYG8kyImHPY

shows us the story dungeons expected to happen.

The first one seem a bit obvious to be the Story Dungeon where we just enter the First and trying to find our way to town only to discover the Sin Eaters for the first time.

The second seem to be the literal Dungeon of the Eulmore and we work out way from the botton and move up until we reach the enterance into Eulmore in the top.

third one we seen from the tech demos....

fourth is the dungeon where we discover the "Truth"

and the final fifth dungeons seems to be the path into Eden.

So what do you think about these Story Dungeons?

For mee it seems interesting and I can't wait to try them out with Trust Companions to have a more direct experience with the FF14 characters.

I expect we have a few more Dungeons after these for the True Finale of 5.0 so keeping them as a surprise just for the sake of not spoiling how 5.0 will end.

    Okay then, let's see, I would hazard to guess these are all 5 of our levelling dungeons;

First dungeon after opening sequence - Lakeland dungeon, it uses a remix of the Lakeland theme we hear in the Lakeland walkthrough video. We also catch glimpses of this dungeon in the launch trailer, where the DRK WoD is accompanied by Alphinaud, Alisae and the Crystal-Exarch-Mysterious-arm-guy-who-still-definitely-isn't-G'raha-Tia as Trusts. I believe this would be the level 71 dungeon, and that alongside the Exarch we would have a special tank trust to take along. Appears to be set during a Sin Eater attack.

Second dungeon - This one seems to be based in Ahm Araeng, with the armadillo like creatures, the rocky/sandy landscape you can briefly see, and the crystal encroached caverns. Seems to be set in a mine - "Copperbell (Extreme)". We have seen the armadillo-like boss in the launch trailer facing against Minifillia, so we know it is a story dungeon as well. This dungeon is set near where Minfillia stopped the Flood and thus seems to be a prelude to the end of the story, so most likely the level 79 dungeon if I were to guess.

Third Dungeon - Dohn Mehg. This is our level 73 dungeon confirmed. Besides that, not much to actually say about it. Others have more comprehensive thoughts on it.

Fourth dungeon - This is the dungeon with the Zodiark and Hydaelyn cave paintings. It seems to be set amongst some Ronkan ruins, and uses what I think to be a remix of the Rak'tika theme from the area walkhtrough video, and thus is most likely the Rak'tika greatwood dungeon. I'm actually gonna take a stab at this being our level 75 dungeon... mainly because of elimination.

Fifth dungeon - Okay this dungeon looks like it serves as a prelude to our battle with Innocence, which would probably happen at level 77, and thus would make it most likely the level 77 dungeon, and most likely set in Kholusia if I were to guess, but I can't be as certain as with the other dungeons. Some crazy giant golems scaling the side of a cliff with either the palace set on their backs, or the place at the very top of said cliff. May as well be Mt. Gulg for all we know.

Final bosses - Cerberus reskin is for the Ronkan ruins dungeon,
Aenc Thorn is ofc from Dohn Mheg,
Ophanim-like Sin Eater is from the Ahm Araeng Dungeon,
Sin-eater lady from Eulmore is in the Innocence Palace dungeon,
the Creepy all arms Sin Eater is from the Lakeland Dungeon.

I am willing to accept swapping what I think are the level 75 and 79 dungeons, hard to tell the flow of the story at that point.

The last one (that seems like a lovely cross between the Copied City from Nier: Automata and Scala ad Caelum from Kingdom Hearts 3) seems actually to lead to the Innocence boss battle.

Not the best image but you can see the same "halo" pattern that appears around the dungeon right behind him. Plus the architecture seems to be a match too.

A Sin Eater... Palace? Is certainly an interesting revelation... One assumed they were a force bent on resuming the Flood and returning everything to blank-nothingness... Yet they have enough of a culture to build a palace? If their goal is annihilation, why build anything like that at all? Puts their pact with Eulmore in a new perspective at least. Certainly more going on with Innocence I guess... I wonder if the Flood of Light was less an End-of-Days event, and more of a Tabula Rasa event...

i suspect it is related to their own personal belief about themselves.

Sin Eaters are the most extreme existence of Light that seek to consume and destroy the world of all Darkness but they may also see themselves as High Beings worthy of being equivalent of Angels people worship.

the appearance of Sin Eaters represent a lot towards "angels" and heavenly beings for the majority that change into Sin Eaters. Of course you know how stories are when the antagonist of a fantasy Story are "Angels" or something close enough to appearance.

It could also simply be a Palace/Temple like area built prior to the Sin Eaters first appearance that was taken over by them. Especially if some of the more...interesting theories I've seen about the place turn out to be true it for sure would have been built long before the Flood started.

My theory since the launch trailer has been that Sin Eaters take up the traits of the people they eat. The leaders of Eulmore all seem gluttonous, certainly a Sin you'd expect them to eat up, yet they have a pact with those people, and instead seem to eat the poor from the slums. I also noticed a lot of the "foot soldier" Sin Eaters, at least the humanoid ones seem very... Primal? They're eating people who are falling in battle, people who are likely terrified, and I think perhaps their appearance reflects that somewhat...

If true, then I guess it fits with building a palace. If they evolve by feeding, and they're selective in whom they eat in Eulmore, then I suppose the logical endpoint is "We're Angels" and constructing a "Heaven" would fit with that... Given Sin Eaters were once people, there could be some pretty solid Rapture comparisons made...

Didn't it seem like it was still under construction, though? The entrance way at least, you even see a pillar form from white cubes as you approach from wherever it is we approach from. Seems to me like it's expanding from a central point, likely where we fight Innocence.

There is a lot of symbolisim in the Sin Eater's appearances such as the one where we see their eyes completely black and looks like they're crying which is actually a imagery of having their eyes burned out by the Light thus they are blinded by the Blight.

dungeon1: given how brief it is at the beginning might be final story one just like SB one had a brief bit of ala mhigo

dungeon 2: think this is the lv71 dungeon during a sin eater attack on a nearby lakeland village

dungeon 3: looks like could be Mt Gulg think lv80 dungeon

dungeon 4: lv73 dungeon maybe a test to see Titania

dungeon 5: Ronkan ruins with murals i think lv 75 dungeon Solus probably leads us to it

dungeon 6: lv 77 dungeon looks like a build up to Innocence

I can't help but wonder what the mysterious sixth zone is (Or if there even is one) since it still seems to be unknown at this point in time.

The area around Eden looked expansive enough that it could feasibly be another zone, though I'm wondering where it would fit into the MSQ.
