Should she not be known for her mastery of conjury and not white magic?

Either, or neither. She's always had a rather eclectic set of skills as a result of having a Sharlayan education and the tutelage of Matoya. She's never quite fit into any of the rigidly-taught schools of magic we experience as players. She had that bubble dome back in the reveal trailers in 2009/2010! We've also seen her block and vaporize bullets with her hands and create the illusion that there's like a dozen of her standing in a circle around you.

Would that explain why her class might be referred as Witch?Either, or neither. I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
Not to mention Thancred was a bard (lowercase b), a Gladiator, a Rogue, and now a Gunbreaker. But he still uses skills like the Ninja teleport as a trust.
Urianger uses Aetherial Manipulation as an AST as well.
NPCs just don't conform to our class system.
Which makes sense. For example, if you were a Thaumaturge and started learning how to use a bow, you wouldn't suddenly forget every spell you learned.
This was actually referenced in the MSQ whe they first meet Yugiri first arrived in Eorzea and Thancred first began weilding a 2nd blade when going after Leviathan. He is just that adept at learning various skills.

Thancred was a Gladiator for in-game purposes only & was never stated to be such a thing. This is because until 2.3 knifes & daggers were associate with Gladiators. He was never seen using a gladiator stance and was just shown using their throwing knife skill from 1.0.
He did occasionally use gladiator stance though - in the early-game battle for the Ul'dahn storyline, and in the first part of the cutscene where he officially switches to rogue.Thancred was a Gladiator for in-game purposes only & was never stated to be such a thing. We just never got many opportunities to see him in battle instances during ARR.
Yoshi p also said she has turned to black magic to fight the light. So she has willenly done this.
