    Jenova as in FF7

I really keep thinking about this and wouldn't it be cool to kinda have a story in FFXIV about jenova from final fantasy 7.

Like was she the only one? I would think she had a father and mother were there others like jenova like a back story or something like were they destroyed.

I would love to see something made explaining something like that here in FFXIV like something unburied or found that uncovers a story of what happen.

I am so getting ff7 remake I am glad I waited for the true remake.

Jenova is Final Fantasy's version of The Thing. It's an alien parasite.

I would like them to make Jenova origins in FFXIV, expanding into her story, even making her an ally, that in the end got corruptes and someway did escape to the space to land on Gaia, and thus starting the FF7 events.

Should be noted that Jenova only looks like a woman as that is the form it took to trick the inhabitants of Gaia (gradually killing them off with its virus. One again, Jenova is Final Fantasy's version of The Thing). It otherwise has no gender.

even so would love to see how jenova came to and why it chose to do what it did.

plus how it ended up in a jar.

I just want new ways new stuff to be added in game different things about final fantasy stuff you always wondered about to tie off loose ends.

like they did with final fantasy tactics lions war was refreshing to find out about ramza and what happened.

Why should its origins be forced into XIV's canon and storyline when they're not even related in-universe? Ask for another VII spin-off instead of asking to shoehorn VII's canon into ours.

I don't think 'choice' was ever on the table. Jenova likely came into existence one day and its first thoughts were likely: "go to planet, deceive, infect, kill planet, use planet to crash into other planet, repeat." Think something along the lines of why Lavos did the things it did, or maybe Parasite/Mitochondria Eve.

As for how it got into a jar... play Final Fantasy VII. There's enough dialogue to explain what happened (or read up the wikia).

    No, thank you.
I'd rather have them come up with original stories and content that fit into the narrative of FFXIV because its written for FFXIV instead of forcing something established into the game for the sake of it.
And I could also imagine that FFVII-Fans who dont play FFXIV and have no intrest in playing an MMO would be rather upset to learn that in order to experience FFVII-plot they'd need to start playing FFXIV or miss out on it.

I dont want to see this game ending up as a melting pot of every FF-story - I love all the little nods and refrences and I like it when they adapt and twist certain stories to make them fit into Eorzea, but this game shouldnt become their way of finishing untold stories. FFXIV is its own game, not some "Oh, dont worry about explaining everything in [FFNUMBER], we'll just finish it off in FFXIV!" or "Anyone has a good idea for the next story-patch in FFXIV? - There should be some early storyboards for FFVI-FFX in that box, maybe you can expand on one of them?"
No. No, thank you. Let FFXIV tell FFXIVs story - with nods, hints and refrences, but never with the idea of it being a "prequel" or "sequel" or anything like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but arent all the Tactics games part of the Ivalice-saga and were meant to play in the same universe from the beginning?
I didnt play all of the Ivalice-saga, but I did like those moments of "oooh, THIS city, I remember it from the last game and hundreds of years ago!" because they made sense within those games. They're telling the story of a "country" throughout the decades with everything that thats involving.

I would also like to point out that our Ramsa isnt part of that - the Ivalice-saga isnt canon for FFXIV and what happend in FFXIV isnt canon for Ivalice. Things might be (very) similar, but thats a "coincidence", not a confirmation that Ivalice and Eorzea are connected (or that Ivalice has always been a part of Hydalyn).
Each FF has its own universe and those universes arent shared as far as the "sincere" story is concerned - cross-over events are always meant with a little wink and are not canon. Why should FFVII be treated differently?

Well, I guess anything is possible really, especially as Yoshi is on record saying FFVII is his personal favourite FF game, and with the remake next year, a FFVII-crossover event is possible.

The Ivalice shown in FFXIV is in fact canon to FFXIV. It takes names and areas and people from the Ivalice saga and fits them into our world in new ways. They are not canon to the original games as these are not the same characters or places but are new versions of them rooted in this canon. So if they were to take stuff from VII and give them new context and lore based on this canon (which they have already) that’s fine but to retroactively weld unconnected games together is not okay.

Quoted to help clarify your point cause I know people get confused parsing what are meant to be references to other games.
