Racial Imbalance Within Eorzea

You know Wedge (or Biggs? I forget who is who) is a roe bro right? He's pretty relevant in the MSQ in Heavensward as well as Alexander's story.

Hmmm... actually, the most rare are Moon Keepers Males (saw them like... 3 times in side quests? Scholar storyline had tree randoms we killed, Black Mage story line had one and also Moon Miqo'te from Beast Tribe closing quests in every expansion) and Duskwight Elezens (I remember only one in 1-30 Lancer story). Though, these guys are so rare in story for a reason - they are rare by lore in general.

Outside of this, we actually see plenty amount of NPC from every race in MSQ and side quests in different areas (mostly those that appeal to them lorewise, which is logical). /thinks

Specifically when it comes to the story.

So let's see we have....1 Roe man, Gosetsu who had a role but now is "on a pilgrimage" which is essentially the nice way of saying "get lost noone likes you" Then we have Momma Limsa Roe lady thats 1 Fem Roe whom again had all this potential but was relegated to the sidelines just to look cute.

And pretty much everyone else is a human or a cat or a potate or a not elf cause apparently some humans just have ears so pointy they can be certified life sized hole punchers.

And of course we got Shadowbringers coming up which had 1 plot important Hrothgar in the trailer and barely any Viera.

Now I could be my usual self and say "Gahh where my Roe MEN I need my MEAT SQUARE ENIX" and while I still hold true to that, seriously we need more Male Roes in everything, I actually took a hard look and honestly, other races arent really paid that much attention to.

Usually its humans, lalas, miqs, and maybe an elf dude but thats about it. Rarely do we see any elf ladies or Au Ra or heck we dont even see Fem Roes all that much.

I mean theres Biggs from the Cid squad and while hes someone I wanna love and protect with my life he doesn't really add anything to the overall general plot as hes to busy prepping for Cid and Neros wedding in the Deltascape.

All joking aside, I'm honestly tired of seeing the basic races take over the plot. I mean for real their bringing the Stormblood girl back because heaven forbid a viera or a Hrothgar actually leas the plot for once.

Gotetsu may no longer be in the picture in the current main storyline but his story and bonding with Yotsuyu is something I really enjoyed in stormblood even though the ending was sad. I do hope he would make some appearance in Shadowbringers.

Let's say it like it really is. Gosetsu and Yotsuyu were both the high points of this expansion, character wise. Bringing them together made them both better and taking them away from us was a low blow.

You're aware that lore wise, there's actually reasons for racial disparity?

Which is why certain race/gender combo's are less frequently seen than others from NPC's?

Theres plenty of unimportant NPCs just kinda bumbling around but even then they just don't get the screentime that they deserve.

To be fair man, your problem isn't your opinions, from persective at least. It's what you write as a title. It's like those youtube videos with clickbait titles meant to draw up sensationalism. Then you click on it only to realize the topic in question may have started out cringey but you could actually hold a reasonable discussion at the core of it.

For once, just try a reasonable introduction and maybe people will stop quoting you as "oh hey, it's that guy from Lakshmi"

Othard really annoys me. It's supposed to have Roegadyn, ok...it has some but it's always 4-5 male Roegadyn 1 token Female Roegadyn, by miracle or by chance. In every situation where there are Roegadyn it's only 1 female Roegadyn because they felt obliged to add at least 1. It's like to them Roegadyn = male Roegadyn. It's a very biased mindset. I know Ala Ganha exists but that's like the most meaningless place in the game.
