Feeling punished for having alts...

It's not much, but I would like retainers to be shared with characters of the same server, if possible. At least then it would be a shared bank. I guess the issue would be limiting the number of retainers from two for each character on the server to two for the server the number characters are on.

I'd rather not. I really need the space for each character, and I don't like mixing stuff up. Plus, that way you can't do ventures on all chars.

Yeah, I'm with you there. If I'm going to have shared storage, I'd like it to be something like a company chest and not just one set of retainers period.

honestly just be able to friend your alts ( example being able to send friend requests to offline characters) would solve so many issues

a shared bank would get abused so fast though, it would punish players who don't have a alt while people who do have uber expanded inventory. imho they should let you mail any soulbound items greater then 1% between alts on the same world as long as they are not Blue in quality or higher as a compromise.

Easy, just give everyone an accountwide storage. Say, everyone got 20slots of shared storage. If you don't have alt, that's just an extra 20 slot for you to use. If you play alt, it's a place for you to trade stuffs between your chars. Tbh I don't think most people here are even asking for some thing as convenience or fancy as that.

Yes, the argument "this game is not designed for multiple alt" can be used against if we are asking for a feature specifically designed for alt support like inventory sharing, legacy/heirloom gears, account bound items ...etc... However I don't understand why people keep bring it up (the this game is not meant for alt) as the reason for not be able to mail stuffs between your alt. Like ... it's completely irrelevant to whether the game is designed for it or not because - repeated ad nausem:

- The player have - in past years - many times were able to do it, only for the dev to step in and patch it out EVERY SINGLE TIMES.

There were never really any logic or rational behind it, except for the "it's to fight RMT" flimsy excuses because:

- Alt is meaningless for botting, you can't multibox with your alt. The RMT bots multibox accounts, not alts on the same account.
- You can not dodge litigation on alt, because any infraction taken apply to the whole account. It's not like "they banned my main so I gonna bot on my alt".
- Chat spam bot (literally the only reason for alts on RMT to reset blacklist) don't need to send stuff between each others.
- RMT bots use bot FC to move stuffs around their account anyway (much more efficient because they don't need multiple login-logout like peopel mailing their alt).

Basically, we're not even asking the game to 'recognize' our alt. For all intend of purpose an alt is just another character, and all we're asking is to simply let the game naturally treat it as such. There is no reason at all for the dev to "go out of their way" to forcefully override that. Like I said, with the lack of a reason and rational, I feel this is simply a old/legacy/outdated thing from 5-6 years ago that SE is just too stubborn to change just because.

I don't see the game becoming alt-friendly with MSQ progression with the story skips being a thing now, but they could at least make things like Aether Currents or mount speed, you know the smaller convenient things, shared to all your characters.
Achievements and seasonal event rewards are unlikely, but shared housing, the ability to friend/mail alts and a shared bank should honestly happen.

The stuff you just described though... that is INCREDIBLY alt friendly. Especially compared to what we have now. Which is exactly none of those things. I would be ecstatic not to have to go through the agony of ARR S rank hunts for speed maps again. Or deal with hunting down aether currents twice. Those things on top of shared housing and the ability to mail stuff back and forth would be literally all I need.
