    Louisoix Summoning the Twelve

So based on some stuff in the Shadowbringers trailer I've been having a conversation about Primal summoning with some people, and one of the things that came up was Louisoix summoning the Twelve. I know it's been stated that his summoning was setup to make sure the Twelve didn't fully manifest as Primals, possibly by killing himself after Bahamut was sealed but before the Twelve finished coming into being. But I can't find where this was actually stated. Anyone got a source for that bit of lore?

I don't know if it's been made explicit or not but something real weird happened there far as I can tell. I think in the original scene and the flashback in Unending Coil of Bahamut they had them show up as crystals.

Each language of the story handles telling it in a slightly different way, though they're all the same story. The English version of that scene relies on the context; you can tell Louisoix intends not to return from the start based on Minfilia's reaction, but she wants to have faith he will, anyway. This particular scene can be a bit more explicit depending on the language you read, but I can assure you the correct interpretation is, "Louisoix knew his technique would in all likelihood result in twelve primals that would train the lands and temper its populace, so he planned to summon them, harness their power mid-summoning, and then die to cut off the ritual before they could manifest."

Here's Koji's answer on the topic from one of the interviews.
When Louisoix was transformed into a primal, he had a vision of being surrounded by the aetheric spires conjured from the prayer stones. What was happening here?

KF: As you know, he’s basically trying to—not directly 100% summon the Twelve, but summon their power. Summoning the Twelve would cause true chaos, but he wants enough power to harness it and send Bahamut back. So he’s gathering the energy from the prayer stones with the help of Eorzeans, and the prayer feeds that summoning process while he’s trying to keep it down without bringing out the Twelve. He hits Bahamut with that, and he shrugs it off, but the power is still there. He’s consciously bringing those [aetherial spires] back for one last push, which is what you’re seeing.
