the character we drive does not worship them in any way and instead we beat the crap out of them. Other gods exist in the real world too, what you decide to do with that info is up to the user.

But for a user to exclaim the use of one God is an offense, yet make no quarrel with the uses of other Gods, is hypocrisy by the very definition. That's the point I'm trying to make, the Christian God does not get any special rules over any other God....either it's all ok or none of it is.

You really are reaching to the point I wonder if you're trolling. This game does not make any mention of God or Jesus. They use figures that have been popularized throughout history. The Odin of this game is in no relation to the Odin of Norris mythology. When they start to make direct references to God and Jesus, I'll take issue then.

What on Earth are you on about?...That Odin is very much a direct reference to the Norse God of the same name....even down to his horse and weaponry. Just like Ultima the High Seraph and Leviathan are named after the same figures in Christian/Islamic/Jewish faiths.

Furthermore I personally have no issue if they directly include Christian/Islamic/Jewish figures in XIV as Primals, raid bosses or whatever...it means nothing.

It's favoritism, not hypocrisy. In fact, since Christianity is considered to be a monotheistic religion, it would actually be hypocritical for a Christian to view the deities of other religion in equal standing to the deity of the Bible while still claiming to be a monotheistic Christian.

That's a fair point. As an Agnostic with no specific religious affiliation, I view it as a level playing field. As such I think it's fine for any and all Gods to be included in any game.

But this is moot because no actual gods are present in the making of this fantasy game. It clearly draws inspiration from western history, and that's why you have institutions like the Inquisition, which is based on various institutions that were set up between the twelfth and nineteenth centuries with the intent of eliminating heresy as defined by the Catholic church. However, the Inquisition in FFXIV has nothing whatsoever to do with Catholicism. As far as I know, no one was ever burned at the stake for allying themselves with dragons. Claiming that this game is anti-Christianity is like claiming that Game of Thrones is opposed to the British monarchy. Queen Cersei Lannister has as much to do with Queen Elizabeth II as the FFXIV Inquisition has to do with the Catholic church.
