Jenova as in FF7

I would be all for ADAPTING Jenova into FFXIV as the antagonist of a raid series or something.

But, not the FF VII Jenova. I don't want the same entity. I much prefer it when FFXIV adapts things from other FF games, and less so the first nine Omega bosses that just slapped in bosses from other games without needing to re contextualize them within FFXIV's setting at all.

I liked having Omega and Shinryu. Having Omega and Shinryu ripped from FF V, I would not have been a fan of. I would be fine with Jenova in FFXIV, as long as it's not literally the FFVII being.

people keep saying canon but ultros and typhon and kefka and other references like esper statues.

music this like the center of the final fantasy world. the game is basically fan service it has its own elements but bringing stories from other games you can't ignore it and 7 is by far not the worst final fantasy game.

if you are one that says 8 was the best lol 8 is good but it locks you out of the last cd from doing anything while I can continue exploring on 7, 3/6 was pretty good also for snes

And we're not ignoring it - but there is a huge difference between having some fanservice refrences to things that were adapted to fit into FFXIVs story/lore and the thing you are proposing, which is basically to turn part of FFXIV into an FFVII-prequel.

FFXIV is its own game and especially with its own story. It might borrow characters or creatures from other FFs and that absolutly fine! But it shouldnt tell another games story. If Jenova ends up in this game as some sort of allagan creature that we defeat in a dungeon - sure, I'm cool with that (as cool as I can be with more allagan stuff at this point). But it shouldnt have any connection to FFVII and it shouldnt add anything to FFVIIs story.

either way in some shape or form you all know sephiroth or cloud or anything from other games will eventually make its way here regardless of what people say or want.

I am putting my 2 cents in before that happens and what I am interested to see come and hopefully one day when it comes they take things in consideration or not but least I gave some input.

Sure, we're most likely going to see them - most likely in the form of a limited time event that will tell a neat little story with no real impact on either world, just how the FFXIII, FFXI and FFXV were: All of them tell stories that are pretty much "isolated" and only on the edge of being canon. Basically "canon with a wink". Those events arent the place to make lore revelations or add to the actual story of any of the involved games.

Seriously, having Jenovas origins explained or expanded on in FFXIV - maybe even in an event that only runs for a limited amount of time - would be pretty shitty for any FFVII-fan who isnt playing this...

Seconded. Seven is one of those titles that has been over hyped and full of nostalgia blindness because so many players experienced it as their first game in the series.... but in reality the story was pretty weak and materia made individual characters irrelevant.

I wouldn't oppose mild references to the game or using interesting models for optional content in the game just in fairness to the warring triad already in the game, or the allusion to the Magitech Research Facility from VI in the Stormblood story, but I don't think that Jenova should be a major part of any part of the story, and nothing they do should be considered cannon in the VII storyline. Also I would hesitate since the aesthetic of VII (and VIII as well) are pretty incongruent to the general ideas of XIV.

I never said 7 was the worst ( that would be ether 15 or 13) I said it is one of the worst. We don't need more references to other FFs in every peace of content and to me the consent fanserivce is one of the weakest parts of this game. It was fine when it was a few things here or there but SB went way over the top with it.
