Aesthetician and Retainers?

When using a Fantasia on one of my retainers, as I began to enter into the re-customization screen, I got a notice that said I can change my Retainer's nickname, or have them visit the Aesthetician at any time, however, no matter where I look, nor what I google, I simply cannot find an answer as to HOW to actually do this. I've even contacted support, but they tell me that a Game Master cannot help with In-Game activities, which is ironic, because why are they called Game Masters if they don't help with the game?

So I come to you, Forums, for assistance. Are we just being lied to by the game itself? or am I missing something somewhere?

Go to the retainer consignor in the city your retainer is stationed in and you can edit them.

Unless there's a different NPC specifically named 'Retainer Consignor' that's hiding somewhere, no I can't.

For the record, both my Retainers are stationed in Limsa. They're both on a venture right now, so is it possible the option dosn't exist on the menu unless one of them is inactive?

For the American English localization, it's the Retainer Vocate you talk to. There's one in Limsa, Ul'dah, Gridania, Foundation, and Kugane in the market districts.

Steps are:
Use Retainer Fantasia.
Make certain the retainer is not on any venture.
Unequip all gear from the retainer you wish to change.
Talk to the Retainer Vocate and select "Change a retainer's appearance and nickname" (this option only appears after you have used the Retainer Fantasia).
Select the retainer you wish to change.

The usual Character Creation screen is then displayed to choose appearance and voice. Once that's done you're asked to select personality and nickname.

I'm looking through Active Help and not finding any entry regarding retainer appearances or use of Retainer Fantasia when I search by keywords "retainer" "Fantasia" and "aesthetician". It might have been a more general system information message.

I know if I use a Retainer Fantasia now (not my first time of course), the only message I get is "You can now re-edit your retainer's appearance and personality. Remove all her gear and speak with a retainer vocate."

It would be helpful if someone could get us a screenshot of that one time message you're referring to.

You would need to use a retainer fantasia every time you want to customize them. Then go to the Retainer Vocate in most any marketplace to change the name and appearance of your retainer. I just ran through that process last night.

I know how to use Retainer Fantasias. The problem is that the game describes an additional option, not involving the use of a Fantasia, that doesn't seem to actually exist.
