FFXI actually used a similar system, to an extent. For example, grilled hare had attack +30%, cap of 50, while a meat mithkabob had attack +22%, cap of 60. However, a lot of the more common foods used such as sushi and red curry had both a higher % AND a higher cap than most other food available, which meant that you had the low level food that's useful for just a short while, and the high level food, and everything in the middle was pretty much worthless.

This system seems to work a lot better in that regard.

You have a choice as to what you're going to use. It's not complicated, just flexible.

Use a calculator and look at what the food offers. You'll see pretty quickly as to what food is best.

Without food my archer hits about 125 for lightshot. 300ish for a crit. With the so-so food, that base hit goes to about 150-170ish. With the optimal it's 200-300. 700 crit.

If you put in a little time, food will work for you. It works way way more than it used to. I have a satchel full of grub for every class.

yes, i do like the fact we get numbers and stats now.. the food system makes a lot more sense, and i have already sold more food in 24 hours than i have in a week at points. lol
