Yep ^_^ I remember it happening for the first time and being so confused as to what was going on but then when I took to my status ailments guide I was like *gasp* oh goodness lol it was amusing at first but then the wave of uncomfortable settled in afterwards.

Unless that's a translation of the move in another language (and please provide the proof if so), that's NOT what it is called. The move in English is called "Abyssal Volcano". It does not target the healer unless people are dead; it targets both DPS.

I've definitely seen it in English. I think the spell she casts is called Abyssal Volcano, but the actual pillars that you take damage from are listed as Volcanic Flatulence.

The Ananta are a single-gendered race with no need for males to reproduce. There's no reason for their spells, and by extension their deity's spells, to be sexualized. It's just enslavement, the same as any other primal. Lakshmi's wording is a little prettier than most, but it's no different from Ifrit tempering those Immortal Flame soldiers in that first cut scene.

I believe he is tempering players in this instance much like other primals do to gain followers, only he does this to murder us horribly. It just doesn't stick because our characters are the Warrior of Light and primal slaying is what we do.


As to the topic specifically, Lakshmi's charm could also be considered a form of tempering. When she says "rest your weary souls on my bosom..." it is her tempting us to rest and fall into a state of bliss that we cannot wake up from. But we are, again, the Warrior of Light...so it just makes for a cool visual. There is nothing creepy about any of this and no need to feel uncomfortable.
