Housing MUST HAVE ATTEMPT#2

Hello everyone!! It seems posting on the phone at 2 am is not so perfect after all . I am here on the forums today to ask everyone, what are the MUST HAVES when owning a personal house that I do of course (share with my brother currently). As I recently purchased the house a few months back, but then i see many other houses with stuff I don't know what to obtain or don't know what to put thats a NEED or MUST.

I am here to ask that question and receive some advice from my piers today, I do so far have a small Aetherite crystal to teleport of course, a chocobo barding spot, and a DODO NEST (I don't really know what its for). Am I missing anything thats a need for a house being shared? I have also recently purchased a garden as well since my brother has been obsessed with training DoH and DoL.

Gardens have nothing to do with DoH/DoL... well except in the vaguest sense. Maybe have a gander at http://en.ff14housing.com/ they list all items, and sometimes how to obtain them. You don't need anything in your house, just put what you like.

Probably because posting from mobile on the SE forums and attempting to edit stuff might be terribly convoluted. At least that's my guess. Then again I don't have a cell phone.

The tiny aetherite really doesn't function at all sadly, it's just there for looks. As for the garden plot, it's only useful if you've got a ton of seeds and can crossbreed stuff for gil.

Though what I'd recommend is a chocobo stable to help raise your chocos if you have the gil to do so. Depending on how big your house is, you can either put crafting benches inside or set up tables for food furniture to get easier exp from dungeoning. Otherwise it's entirely up to you and your wallet to decorate it as you please.

At the bottom of mobile is "use desktop version". Been doing that for years. Makes it so much easier to use and also looks way better.

Some seeds are obtained through botanist harvests, but other than that, you can purchase certain seeds from vendors.

A Summoning Bell is definitely a must-have item. There are also some NPC-vendors that you can place in your house. The Material Supplier sells low-level crafting items (and more importantly is an NPC that you can sell your vendor-trash to), there's also one for repairs, materia melding, etc. Personally, I only use the Materials Supplier. You also may or may not want a Company Chest (access to your FC's chest), depending on how often you use that.

There's a variety of other furnishings you may or may not find useful, but the Summoning Bell and Material Supplier are really all I use.

A material supplier is useful for DoH. You can get the permit from vendors in the housing areas. Having a retainer summoning bell of your own can be handy as well (depending somewhat on how far your house is from the nearest public one).

It's a destination only, so you can't click on it and do anything, but it provides a teleport destination (and a cheap one at that) directly to your house plot.

As far as I'm concerned they haven't changed that, you can only teleport to apartments without an Aetherythe and that's more because...well, apartments...

Besides that, there's really not a "must have" for housing, although some things are nice, like the vendors (Hokonin and Manservant sell housing items, Junkmonger sells Dark Matter), Summoning Bell and maybe an Armoire. Other than that, just decorate to your heart's content.
