    Deep Dungeon - Matched Party or NPC AI

    Deep dungeon is one of my favorite things in the game, and it has remained, since the original came out, one of the most aggravating things that I may never experience it in earnest because of the brick walls imposed by its design.

    I could use party finder I suppose in either case to try and cobble together a group that will get however far it gets till people bail or we die ...but I never have. Now and then I do try to solo it. Still, it's a heck of a chore to have no middle ground...

    I mean, the place is built for 4 people, and doing the content that way takes nothing away from the achievement of attempting it solo. You wouldn't even need the most complex AI to bring in NPCs, or heck, even a chocobo ... so you go in with one and you don't get the solo achievement, of course, but at least you stand more of a chance if you wish, it's another option...

    Or let us solo as BLU? Maybe you beat that solo, that doesn't mean you get the achievement for beating it solo as any other job.

    I don't frankly care how the devs do it, I just want some kind of middle ground between the ultimate savage intensity of soloing and the soul crushing effort of trying to assemble a pre-made party.

    (Edit: Speaking specifically about PotD 101-200 and HoH 31-100)

    For the most part I find the match parties work great I'll get some of course in which some mistakes we made and we fail on the final boss of each floor. But for the most part all the match parties I'm in we kill efficiently usually quickly to progress to each floors to get done as quickly as possible.

    Yeah, but for PotD 101-200 and HoH 31-100 this is not an option : /

    Yeah, I also have an issue with not allowing match parties to do the upper floors. To me, thats limiting content for players. Not everyone can get or wants a fix party At a compromise, SE could have made the match parties, for the upper floors, the standard party of a tank, healer, & 2 dps. I would love to have my squadrons do the POTD & HoH. Blu Mage was supposed to be basicially single player content but they are not allowed in the POTD/HoH! Go Figure!!

    I am curious about BLU mainly because the cap is currently at Lv50 and PotD is Lv60.
    While the Job design is such that they could just use it with the existing abilities at Lv60 I am curious if they will be allowed in PotD when the cap is raised to 60 for the job.
    Again, it should make sense. If you get the achievement for BLU clear, you're not taking away the achievement for clearing with any other job...
    And I'm not sure how much development work it would take to implement ... I can't imagine it would be much.

    I have hopes for Squadrons because the devs have tied Grand Company promotions into clearing Squadron Missions. They plan to have many more rank promotions in the future, so it stands to think they are going to really expand on squadrons as being the go to for pre-Shadowbringers/Trust NPC AI. And really, especially for Deep Dungeon, they should be very viable ... They don't have to be perfect. Just the basic commands. If they're flanking you in the dungeon and attack what you attack, that's perfectly acceptable. I mean, if they can properly dodge attacks, all the better, but I'm not going to be overly picky in this case. The content is designed to be cleared any number of ways. The 'extra help' of even basic NPC AI so long as they don't go tripping every trap is a welcome help ... which again, takes nothing away from the achievement of completing it actual solo.
