    Data Center Selection Broken

Whenever I try to switch servers via the Data Center it cannot and I am taken to a blank screen that I cannot enter the game with. Once exiting this screen the Start button no longer works and I have to exit the game to make it work again by re-logging. I am only able to access the Aether server and the Worlds in said server. Whenever I try to switch servers this all happens. Someone please help me!

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When did this start happening? Do you recall anything changing/updating on your PC that coincides with this?

Are you able to select or start a character on the Aether Data Center? Does this cause any different issues?

What have you tried so far to alleviate the issue?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Thank you for the response. It started to happen when I re-subscribed to the game and downloaded it once more after a few months of downtime away from the game. It didn't do this last time either. This problem is brand new and annoying me. Also I honestly don't know what I can try to solve this problem. So hopefully you can figure something out for me. My game Is the steam version if that helps any.

    Thank you for the reply.

Are you able to select another character on Aether? If so, does it cause the same problem? Does this issue only happen with one character?

    Hope to see you online!

I am able to access all my characters on Aether. I cannot however access any other servers as I have said before. This issue only happens when I try to switch servers to something other than Aether.

Thank you for the update AlvissEdgehart. We apologize for the delay in our response.

This could stem from a number of issues. If this is a connection issue, try some of the following:

    1) Make sure your anti-virus/firewall has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV

    2) Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that they have been opened:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
Your ISP can open these ports for you.

    3) The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.

If this isn't connection and is related to the installation of the game:

    1) Make sure to disable any overlays that may be present (Steam Overlay, Discord Overlay, etc.)

    2) Perform a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

    3) Do a clean reinstall of the game.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
