Pugilist‎ hunting log not working.

I'm writing on the behalf of my Brother-In-Law. His character took up the Pugilist class yesterday, and he's having trouble with the hunting log.

His character is level 9 and has completed the level 5 class quest for the Pugilist, but the hunting log did not unlock for him (Pugilist class).

Now, I don't if this makes a difference, but here it goes ...

His first class was a marauder. At level 1, he either bought/jumped/boosted to the dark knight, samurai or the red mage class. From there, he did mostly the BIG classes which do not have a hunting log.
Now that he unlocked the Pugilist yesterday, I wonder if jumping/buying/boosting into a class when his original was only level 1 (never completed anything) or is there something else going on?

Hey all, wife of Florine Chatelfortain here.

I wanted to update this ticket.

It seems that if you do not do the initial quest of the class you started with (i.e. you create a Marauder when you create your first character) the Hunting Log will NEVER open.

I took my husband through the first quest for Marauder to kill the creatures outside Limsa. As soon as he finished that, the Hunting Log opened up.

So be warned. If you start a character and never continue that beginning class, instead buying a boost for a class, your Hunting Log will not open!
