    RDM Scorch

    So, could this be our RDM DoT that’s tacked on to our finishers?

    Been curious not sure if anyone’s got concrete information.

    I recall having a discussion about placing a DoT on Verflare / Verholy to get RDMs to alternate between them to keep DoT active to maximize on additional DPS.

    What are yalls thoughts on it?

    Could it even be an elemental debuff? That cherry on top of the already exciting finished combo?!

    Per GamerEscape and the tooltips from the media build, it just replaces Jolt after Verholy or Verflare and generates 7 of each mana. The media build had it at 700 potency compared to Jolt 2’s 250 and verholy and verflares 600.

    Guess it was wishful thinking lol.

    Was excited thought it was still an “unknown” skill

    I like that idea. It encourages alternating Verholy and Verflare. Their Potencies might need a slight nerf though. Because in order to alternate the DoT would need to be of significant length. Standard you are looking at maybe 11 or so GCDs, so the DoT would most likely be 45s or so. There is also the "filler" spell in case both DoTs are up... I may have just shot myself in the foot... it's still not a bad idea, but oh the balance, lol.

    I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

    Please no DoTs on RDM. It's why RDM and DNC are so perfect. Well.. one of the reasons.

    True and I absolutely love RDM I just want a reason to alternate between flare and holy. Yes if white is lower use flare, but I still migrate to Flare.

    If you encourage the player to alternate to keep a mild DoT on the enemy I’d be inclined to use both.

    OR maybe make Verflare an AoE, which will then have me use my combo on trash mobs to use Verflare and AoE them to hell!

    But again that was my general premise on the DoT and if Scortch were to inflict it after using a finisher.

    Well they could have just given you a trait that makes is so you can use VerHoly after VerFlare and vise versa but instead you get a whole new spell to play with

    RDM is probably my favorite caster and it got just about everything I wanted it to get. They added to it's AoE rotation. You got a move to use instead of Displacement. Which I mean when all the bosses have cone AoEs you need to doge out of you might as well stay close to the boss so you can dodge those easier anyway.

    I'm not crazy about the weird 10 mana spender since RDM is pretty mobile already but w/e. it'll help me get below 50/50 if I'm not paying attention and Manafication is up.

    Also if you had to alternate which Using Flare or Holy you would have to go out of your way to make sure you got that spell next while trying to not go full white or black on your job gauge and you would probably be staring at your job gauge a lot more which I think would go against it's simple use that SE was going for. I do think we should have got a skill to combo off Mulinet and maybe a spell finisher to combo off of that but hey, 6.0 is only 2 years away lol.

    Yeah, I totally agree that they should have made verflare/holy slightly different, one being aoe and one being single target wouldve been really awesome, giving the finisher some versatility....ver satility...ver...
