Housing demolition timer need to be changed! Sitting on your property needs to count.

With one week notice my house was removed in 30 day after not entering house. I sit on my front area daily and now they started this demolition to help ppl that not have housing and not notifying anyone in game that they going to do it. In FFXIV you get in game notices for everything close to completing and not for destroying your house? It make no sense. That needs to change. I want to start a Union to all those who lost housing to to this rule that is not fair and does not provide in game notice. All who feel the same make it known here.

It was in the patch notes, and on the lodestone. It was also linked in the launcher. People talked about it on reddit, and the forums.

Just because you were ignorant of the reinstatement, and how it works, does not mean it is broken. You are telling me that in 45 days, you did not once enter your house. Why do you need a house then?

I think you do get an in-game notification for demolition but it comes up in your chat so if you're afk and the chat continued while you were gone, well you don't see it. You do get email notifications but that could get sent to spam depending on your email service and settings.

You can check the demolition info of any house you have access to as an owner/fc member/tenant in the Timers window, however for some reason that timer is invisible until around 10 days before demolition.

I wish we had proper instanced housing so we wouldn't have to worry about this demolition nonsense. Or at least improve apartments enough so that their features are comparable to houses.

Yeah, I mean, if someone is taking a break then I can sort of understand. But people who own a house should also be aware of the 45 day demolition timer. Personally, when I'm not running around doing this and that I'm at my house jamming to whatever tune I favor at the time waiting for queues to pop. For the most part I would say most people are capable of keeping their house up and running if they choose. They just need to keep themselves mindful of the timer and can't be gone for too long. I'm not a fan of the system but it's what we have, so...we just have to deal with it.

i am telling you in life you get 90 day notice min before your credit is damaged. Here you do not get that for house. Also being logged in needs to count and on property. It makes no since to punish one group to help others when they did nothing wrong.

Well, they are not a credit agency. They are a gaming company. This is their game, and they have set rules and systems in place for better or worse.

Also, I'm pretty sure your credit is damaged with a single late payment.

And most people I know go inside their house more than once every 45 days IRL.

If you didn't enter your house once in 45 days you might aswell be without it and let someone else enjoy the plot.
There are several notifications by mail. When i let my house auto demolish i got like 4-5 mails about it. In-game timer i believe shows you aswell.
There is plenty of information about how you need to ENTER the house to reset it and to check you junk folder for emails.
This was nobody's fault but your own. Might aswell start an uproar about "I got a job and got fired when it turned out I had to actually GO TO WORK to get paid"

I think the reason for this is SE want players who actually use their houses to be the ones who get to keep them.

The above being said you can use your house without going inside, such as tending to your garden or chocobo stable. I agree that stepping into the garden should be enough but I suspect that the system not being this way is due to the gigantic amount of unique data when outside in a housing area.

When you're outside you are in an instance, but you're in an instance shared with 29 other properties. That's a lot of plots to keep track of at once and it's possible the game is just unable to tell if you step into a garden you own because there's just too much data to process in that area. It might not seem much but imagine if a subdivision has four active fc houses. Every time a fc member runs in and out of the garden the game would have to track that. Some fcs are huge. This could be a crazy amount of information happening at once. (in case it is not clear, fc members entering a house reset the timer)

However the interior of a house has significantly less information. It has furnishing and resident data for only one house. This is significantly easier to track and therefore more reliable to create the reset of the demolition system around it.

All this being said though...it's not hard or time consuming to step inside.
