Should i get direct hit melding?

I mean specifically if i have no other option than putting in more crit into the gear, since i know crit melds are best ones and should be focused if there is a place for them.
However what if a piece of gear cant have crit chance melded, does direct hit melds still works on tanks?
Tanks does not have any direct hit in their gear, but because X > 0 and that it gives damage outside of other bonuses i think it may be a nicer stat than determination, how do you think? I remember tank used to get all direct hit melds but because we have more crit and it gives more the more we have people changed their minds on it.

direct hit is extremly important specially if you are a DRK or PLD, you should meld direct hit on everything except you acc since those are melded with str, but this will change on SHB so keep an eye on what you need to meld in the future.

No, you just press Inner Release and all attacks become direct hit. No need for it.

Tank melds are Crit>DH for DRK/PLD and Crit>Det>Ten for WAR, which skips DH entirely because it's useless during Inner Release(Crit still gives crit power on top of chance so it's very good). There isn't really much point to melding right now though, unless you want to try savage raids before new expansion. All the gear will be quickly replaced in less than a month anyways. DH will likely overtake Crit again, once the current crit scaling resets and then crit will gradually become more powerful once more because SE couldn't be assed to actually solve this issue by adding crit resist and just removed crit procs instead.
