Where to start after a long absence???

I’ve been away from the game for about 4 yrs and not sure where to start up again with crafting. I have all my DoH jobs at least to lvl 56, a few of the master class recipes and a few of the Lucis tools.

Any suggestions where I should go from here? Should I get all the master class 1/2 recipes? Do I need to get the Lucis tools or can those be skipped?

The Master I crafting books are easy enough to get, so you might as well get them
The Master II books are much more of a pain to get, and not really needed for anything - so skip those unless you feel completionist.
Nobody bothers about the Lucis tools today. The crafted level 51+ tools are good enough - NQ versions of those are available from NPC vendors.

Make sure to unlock collectibles and Custom Deliveries later on. (This is done in Mor Dhona and/or Idyllshire) That is needed for obtaining scrips, and from level 60+ you will want those.
For level 51-60 the Moogle beasttribe quests are good for leveling DoH classes, and later on the Namazu beasttribe quests are good for leveling DoH/DoL classes from level 60-70.
You will need to progress far enough in the MSQ and some other questlines to unlock the Moogle and Namazu beasttribes, as well as for unlocking some Custom Deliveries

Personally, I like to recommend checking the HW leves. Just look through all of them to see the rewards. HQ main/off hand and left side (minus belt) come up with some regularity. Much easier to gear up at the cost of a few nugs/lumber/etc than going to the trouble of crafting it all yourself.
