    NUUUUU!!!! My Macro!

So when 5.0 launches a bunch of skills will leave us, never to be used again... maybe. So the question is, what about the macros you had for those skills? Without the skill there is no reason for the macro. So what macros of yours will never see use again, once 5.0 releases.

For me, the two I'll miss the most are my Goad and my Mana Shift macros. They were beautiful and people loved them.

Goad: Hey <t>! Do I have to (Goad) you to attack <tt> some more?
So the text in combat would read something like: Hey Hien! Do I have to (Goad) you to attack Zenos some more?

Mana Shift: Hey <t>! Shut up, and take my (Mana Shift).
So the text in combat would read: Hey Thancred! Shut up and take my (Mana Shift).

These brought us such joy, once upon a time.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

I never used macros for battle skills or support skills. People ignore rez macros and use theirs anyway, so the point of that being a thing never works, especially when both healers and the smn hit the macro at the same time, all 3 blowing swiftcast.

As for defensive cool downs, it wasn't worth the button mashing to get them to work since macros don't queue (for things like hallowed)

I had a macro for Shadewalker, but no "say" to go with it.... honestly will be glad that's not something I have to pay attention to playing ninja anymore. Shadewalker wasn't too bad since you could use <tt> but smoke screen? I never use it because it required me to take my attention off the boss.

    Off-topic rant incoming:

I understand that the devs wanted enmity-control to be one of the NIN gimmicks, but with how mind-numbingly easy enmity generation is in this game for tanks the only actual purposes of those skills is to take up space on the skill bar.

It was added because tanks were not in tank stance for most fights, thus not generating lots and lots of enmity.

Was that for Savage raids with people trying to squeeze out every last damage point? It only takes 1 or 2 tank stance enmity combos in most fights and you're set for life.

I don’t use any macros for battle related stuff. They were designed specifically to not be useful.

Hey op, should do what I did and make a hotbar by accident dedicated to deleted skills. I cry every time I see ring of thorns.

I only have one combat job related macro.

Which was MCH's "Piano Burst" rotation. You know, Reload > Split Shot > Rapid Fire > Wildfire > Slug Shot > Gauss Round > Split Shot > Reassemble > Clean Shot > Quick Reload > Slug Shot > Ricochet > Clean Shot

Since I'm lazy and given that said rotation was static and literally always used in that order every single time with no deviation.

But with no more reloading and no more fitting in the combo shots for Wildfire, this macro will no longer be useful.

Instead... I guess I'll have to make a new one that goes Wildfire > Overcharge > Heat Blast > Gauss Round > Heat Blast > Richochet > Heat Blast > Gauss Round > Heat Blast > Ricochet > Heat Blast > Gauss Round > Heat Blast > Ricochet

Aren't CD's that force you to spam 1 skill over and over and over and over again just the most interesting and fun things? /s
