    Dye box: a sensible suggestion

So, I was leveling the gathering jobs and couldn't help but notice a slight struggle in my inventory because all the mats... Then I realized that 1/4 of it is only occupied by dyes! And I don't even have a lot of colors...

So here I come with a suggestion: a dye box for the paints. Somewhere you can store them all without not occupying half of your useable space.

Or at least maybe let the glamour dresser pick from dyes stored in your retainer inventories? Maybe?

You only need a few pigments to make all the non-rare dyes in the game, so I wouldn't say a dye box is a very high priority (though not a bad idea).

A TACKLE box for fishing tackle is very, very much needed though.

I meant the box not as a crafting QoL, but as a storage unit for the whole dye collection... Because dragging them out of the retainer inventories every time you want to dye something is a bit of unecessary hassle..

So kinda like how GW2 does it? (I kinda like the GW2 way of doing it and would so like it here, but FFXIV doesn't seem to like things like it. WoW's Transmog system and GW2's dyes would be great.)

I'd also love the GW II way of unlocking a dye and it's permanently there, but it's doubtful considering some dyes are sold in the Mog Station and still a fairly successful income.

...and since I already compared it to GW II....can we ever have multi dye gear please? I'm tired of every white turning cotton candy pink when using red dyes >.>

Or you could just sell them for gil, then buy them with gil when you actually need a dye.

I'd love some sort of "currency tab" for dyes. They use a lot of space but I don't wanna get rid of them. Or make that "currency tab" sort of thing an addition to the dresser so we can put all the dyes there.

I do that sometimes. I like to call it "storing my items in the market board". Though it's less reliable when an item has a strongly fluctuating price.

Most dyes are cheap as dirt, so I long ago figured out it was better just to just store my dyes as gil.

Honestly.... I'd prefer they just did away with dyes entirely as consumable items and turned them into unlockables that you then just pay a little gil every time you want to dye an item. Could be something really simple like: You completed Halatali, you unlocked Halatali Yellow dye, and as things went on perhaps things got harder, like you have to have completed Alexander Savage to unlock metallic gold dye.

As it is certain colors have inflated costs entirely because of their rarity (I'm thinking specifically of jet black and pure white) and have no reason from a game display standpoint to need to be rare or expensive other than so that people who want a lot of it can buy it for real world money.
