Early Relic Quest - Amdapur Keep

This is a suggestion for the early Relic quest to get the Glyph from Amdapur keep.


This needs changing. I didn't bother with it on my main because I was levelling so fast, but now I'm levelling a 2nd job.


Queueing for AK is painful. So far, over 200 Minutes over 3 days queue. I know DPS queues are bad, but it's rarely over 30 minutes for most things.



Twice now, I've had groups matched and then sat for another 60 minutes on "Reserving Server" before people started bailing.


I'd suggest changing the location of the glyph to somewhere more popular, making it a solo duty, or putting it on the Poetics store.


It's not like the relic bow will even be useful except for galmour - My Bard is nearly 60 now and I'll probably just abandon the quest and forget about it.

Just wait until you're level 70 and then solo it unsynced. You may even be able to at 60 without any trouble if you're equipped well enough.

Ahh it appears Amdapur Keep Normal is broken. Tried to go in unsynched on my SMN (70) and got the "Reserving Server" thing. Switched to Hard and it came up instantly.

Ah yes, I recall hearing about Amdapor Keep being bogged down by bots running it over and over. Maybe pick a low population time?

Unfortunately Hard doesn't count for the relic quest. I've raised a bug report.

Well yeah. It might be the same place for lore, but it's not the same instance.

Unfortunately, probably also just not really a bug, either. Working as intended, by dint of allotted instances for the duty are all full of gil farming bots.

Seems like they've had to reset the instances a few times lately (I think?) to "fix" this, and I'd like to suspect it's a very known issue, but due to being in the pre-expansion crunch, they just don't have the time or resources to produce an actual solution. At the very least, I'd hope they're aware of Amdapor Keep throwing lots of issues and they've investigated the cause.

Not really sure what else there is to do as a player, tho. Dealing with bots, you'll probably have trouble finding any "dead hours" to sneak in. At best, you might get through after a ban wave, or if there's any mention of issues with the instance servers on lodestone. Word has been that some seem to get through by running unsynced solo. Not ideal, but maybe optimistically things will clear out with 5.0.

Yeah, i did an unsynched solo run a day or two ago and it went without delay. Now its possible that my playtime(i keep weird hours) helped, but the issue seems to only apply to people doing the instance in groups. Sorry OP.

When I did mine a couple months ago for DRG I didn't have an issues getting in unsynced with my partner, and no trouble some months before that for NIN. Maybe it depends on the data center.
