IDK, if I was an NPC, I'd be asking what Primal that's based on, where/when the WoL battled it.

Don't even need to go that far though, it's obviously a Phoenix based Primal. Part of the reason we were told not to let the Phoenix story leave Coil was because that kind of Primal (one with the power of Rebirth) is a pretty dangerous idea to let out... If people knew there was a Phoenix Primal, and they now will because we're just throwing it out there, they might get the idea to summon it in order to revive <insert loved one here>. Then they're tempered. Then they're just summoning it for fun. Then we have a problem.

Not letting out the truth behind Coil is easy. We can BS a story about where we encountered the Primal very easily. We'll still be making it public knowledge that there is indeed a Phoenix based Primal kicking around the world though, and that is also what we were warned against doing in Coil...

Suzaku existing would make it pretty easy to lie about.

Well we aren't using Phoenix to bring anything back from the dead. We can just say Phoenix is the primal with the power to burn you into charcoal. I'm sure the story will find a solution.

As for my main, the ninja....All I want is for Karasu to stick around. It's not fun without him. He'll jump in, make fun of Oboro, kidnap another girl, fake his death and help kill the final boss.

It will most likely get explained in the lvl 80 quest anyways.

On that note, if I have to guess it maybe related to survivors of the Calamity that actually witness Phoenix appear and made Bahamut disappear which would explain why people believe in the Phoenix.

But we saw how it ended in Flames of Truth, and Phoenix never visually manifested. Louisoux's Phoenix was blue anyway.

Phoenix is probably blue in Coil because it is tempered by Bahamut at that point. And Bahamut's main aether attacks are all blue. When we see Phoenix in UCoB where it revives the party, it is back to it's usual gold and red coloring.

From memory, Phoenix changes colour after we defeat and un-temper it/him.

Phoenix actually changes colour after the add phase in the battle during the Final Coil of Bahamut. Once Phoenix finishes casting the "Rebirth" skill and enters the final phases of the fight, its blue feathers turn the red-orange. It's the latter colour in Unending Coil as well, but I'm not sure you can confidently point that "blue feather = tempered" when Louiphoenix still pounds away with us at full force in the actual canonical encounter of Final Coil as the red-gold Phoenix.

In fact, Phoenix changes BACK into red-blue after we beat him. The red-gold is just more of a 'high-powered' state if anything. And yes, according to Flames of Truth, he doesn't transform, but his aetherial shroud assumes a phoenix like shape before it bursts through Teraflare.

Also, in regards to Role Quest divisions, it is not DPS Range and Melee, but DPS Physical and Magic. The slide from Live Letter 51 introducing them had a picture of a tank, a healer, a ranged physical and a caster to illustrate the point.
I honestly would like this format of 1 long role quest instead of multiple quests unlocked at certain levels. just finished the DRK quest up to 70 and I think the pacing suffered quite a bit :/
