Preorder Aetherite earring - DPS only :(

Note I didn't do the preorder for the earring, and didn't even know what it was good for, but then I saw the 30% XP boost below 70, and looked more closely.
Unfortunately, it only works for DOW, DOM classes, which makes it useless for leveling my crafter / gatherer classes.
I wish they had made it usable for all jobs. If it did, I might actually have a chance of catching up in my craft leveling..

DoW and Dom isn't just dps, it's all battle jobs.

It's already super easy to level crafters, you get a ton of exp from leves

Why "DPS" only when tanks and healers can use it too?

If you're only worried about leveling, the moogle and namazu dailies will easily get you a level every day or two once you get to 50 and 60 respectively. Getting to 50 is rougher, since the ixal dailies are a lot rougher, but they're still basically free exp, and the Ala Mhigan earrings can help.

Well that's not DPS only then is it?
And yeah they generally don't promote gathering or crafting classes much. But catching up has never been easier, you shouldn't have much trouble doing so. You can do it almost entirely passively if you wanted.

That said, it is a bit odd that the Aetheryte Earring is DoW/M only considering that the Ala Mhigan Earring is not.

It might be neat if it did apply to DoH/DoL classes, but really, the majority of your xp for both of those will come from Leves and/or turn ins to rowena, neither of which the earring would help you with anyway.

DOM/W classes are the bread and butter of the game, and aren't as quick and easy to level as DOH/L classes.
