    I watch what the tank does (I'm a WHM lvl 63). Mostly tanks don't seem to communicate any more about how they do things, and I understand in low level content that has been repeated enough ad nausem, most if not all want to get through as fast as possible.

    If the tank constantly pulls way too much and I can't handle it, I will speak up. If they continue to do so I will eat the penalty. I'm not going to argue or check gear or any of that. I know that my playstyle isn't theirs and I can't keep up with it.

    I advise you train your reading comprehension from 10 to at least 45, and read again.

    Also, you forget tanks can equip ranged weapons in ffxi specifically for pulling.

    There are good tanks and bad tanks. Tanks should be pulling, not healers or DPS, but those tanks need to be pulling correctly.

    Good tanks will: Pull at a speed the group can clear with. They will pull mobs that they can control effectively. Make sure healer and DPS are ready.

    There are a lot of healers who think that big pulls or bust is it, not realizing the tank either cannot keep aggro effectively, the mobs do to much damage, or the DPS is not geared enough for such heavy pulls. This is applied to DPS too. They go pulling stuff, not realizing the tank isnt able to effectively tank the mobs, or get proper aggro, or the healer cant keep up with it. If you got a good experienced tank, you wont have to pull. Theyll pull at a speed that the group can do. Cant tell you how many times an overzealous DPS will pull a hard hitting mob into an already large pull and wipe the group. Or the healer who sprints ahead and grabs aggro and dies before the tank can effectively get control of the mobs.

    Dont be pulling if your not the tank. If the tank is pulling slow, talk to them. See why theyre pulling slow. Most tanks will speed up if you ask them too. Dont go taking matters into your own hands. If the tank is that much of a problem, vote kick and get a new one. And wall to wall pulls, btw, arent what everone wants. I did a run once where I was chain pulling boss to boss and was told to slow it down. Group was capable, they just thought it was to hectic.

    Also, if you get snarky with tanks about speed before actually talking with them, They will let you die. If youre really atrocious, some of us might accidentally shirk you or spin the boss during a cleave...Point is, communicate with your fellow players in a group and dont go off doing something. That tank might be pulling slow cause they might be having issues, or not geared enough, or rusty. Maybe they noticed the DPS are poorly equipped, or the healer is new. Talking is the key here.

    If you don't communicate to the tank you want to pull more, then you pulling more mobs is unacceptable.
    If the tank wants to pull more, great, if they or the healer aren't experienced enough or geared enough, then deal with a slightly longer run. the horror. lol

    I dont see where you ask the group, you just start pulling. Thats not a group decision. What happened to basic communication.

    You guys act like regular pulls add on an hour when it really doesnt. You shouldnt be using up all your resources for a few more minutes of healing.

    You dont like it? Que as tank then, only those who disagree never played a tank long enough to know how it feels. If the tank feels the something is wrong with the dps or healer after the first pull and decides to one or two group at a time after that, you respect his decision. The reason why theirs so few tanks is because of players, like you, who "disagree" with how things work, and cuz of players like you, tanks get stressed out, fed up with it, retire, and play another role, or they just que with friends and fc members.

    Im glad for the trust system, though ive rarely had to deal with much problematic players who thinks they know everything lately, trust system and fc members make my play experience pleasant.

    Tanks dictate pulls, you want them to pull to the wall? Then you better hope that tank is not only geared for it, but you got the heals or dps to do it. If you dont, you get small pulls. Simple as that.
