Doing more damage gets me out of the dungeon faster. Overhealing does not.
Strawman argument and completely irrelevant to the topic. How do you even arrive at the conclusion that Doozer overheals because he dislikes healers playing the game of life with his HP pool when he's tanking or playing a DPS job?
You don't need to play this silly game to prevent overhealing, nor do you need to play it to optimize your healing tools. I can say with a fair amount of certainty, especially in PUGs that if the tank or anyone else is sitting at critical HP, a healer isn't impressing anyone getting out an extra Stone/Malefic/Broil cast. The party is more than likely thinking, "WTF healer? Effin heal!" If the healer knows the fight and has properly gauged how quickly HP bars are dropping and everyone is staying on their feet, then fine. The consequences for failing though are severe. DPS players do zero damage if they're down, this is potentially a TON of damage missed every second that ticks away. Tank dies and it's pretty much a wipe. Both scenarios lead to more time added to the instance than overhealing will ever do.
Risk vs reward is great an all when the reward is greater than the risk, and with healers hovering around 3.5k iirc it most certainly is not the case. A DPS player would have to be pulling as much or less as a healer for this kind of mentality to have some merit, in which case you're probably better off just removing that player from the group.

Back in ARR yes i did, i was quite cruel to a newbie tank friend and during brayflox hm i waited until they was as low as possible before popping lustrate to give them that near death fear and i did it throughout the dungeon, had 33,23,24,8,7,3,2,56 and 44 hp remaining before lustrate, yeah i was very cruel then, i'm a lot more mellow now so i just heal as needed while dpsing as i want.
Guy butt is best butt <3
It's a bit of a misconception that you even really need to take liberties with your Tank to do decent DPS as a healer in a dungeon tbh.

That's one of the nastier expert roulette pulls, it was a solo roulette queue and I'll openly plead to being a bit rusty when I did that recording. 4.4k personal DPS and the tank dipped to 20k briefly on two occasions.
If you're with friends, by all means. But keep that junk out of pugs. Time's limited and I don't need a random healer potentially maki g things longer than thet need to be cause they need their lols
Another bonus to this is healing from a critical low HP is a bigger boost to the LB bar!

I think you'll come to find out that tanks don't care at all about how you keep them alive while simultaneously consider you a scrub if you make them use their invulnerability on anything but an emergency.
Interestingly enough, when I first got into WHM, I read a lot of your posts and watched some of your videos. One of your videos is forever imprinted in my mind as an example to follow. It all helped me grow a ton in a short amount of time. It's a bit of a misconception that you even really need to take liberties with your Tank to do decent DPS as a healer in a dungeon tbh.

So, I just want to say thank you.
Thank you to Gemina, too.
That said, I think a lot of people being contrary are taking this to an extreme and misunderstanding the OP. The OP is playing well. No one is really playing games with the tank's health. He's really just pointing out how absurdly overpowered we are.
