It does though. You are living proof of it. You and other people who think like you are the reason the MB is in the state that it's in. "1 person doesn't have that effect" is how it starts.

It is not. You can just go to another world while visiting and buy off them.

This is something that I read all over the internet and highly disagree with. Gil will never be a BiS currency for practical use, but it's still ever-so-nice to have anyway. Also, unlike things such as gear, some tradable items (like materia) have the same amount of usefulness regardless of whether you buy them with gil or something else.

Yes, outside of teleports and repairs for non-crafters, gil isn't required to play the game. However, its usefulness is all about providing you with extra options.

If you are finding that people are constantly crashing the price of things you're trying to sell, perhaps try and find a niche market vs. going for the more obvious sales. Sellers get to decide how much value they place on their items, and that price isn't always going to line up with what you have in mind. It's just the way the market works.

Honestly, not really. In theory sure, in practise no.

I'm quite rich and I've sold stuff cheap all the time. Sometimes I just want it out my bag. Sometimes it's at a ludicrous price and I don't care. Sometimes I do undercut carefully. Depends on mood.

Most of the market board frustrations are completely unnecessary. I've seen and been through it all. Other players absolutely destroying profitable markets. Massive undercuts. Markets being flooded by one player. Seeing an item consistently sold at a set price for 3 months previous on the history, posting one and 2 hours later 5 appear at half the price. But it's actually all perfectly fine. There's always a profitable market. Crashed markets nearly always recover eventually. You just take it in your stride, deal in multiple crafts or items and the gil will always add up.

It's important to remember an item you're selling is not "your" market. Players are perfectly entitled to undercut you to pieces. Getting angry at them changes nothing. Some markets are bad profit, potions or food for example, move onto a different one. Dip your hand into multiple markets, you get more chance of at least a few bringing in the gil. If an item is low demand and you're making high profit from it, you're getting lucky, it could crash at any moment, accept that. If a high demand market crashes, patience is key, keep an eye on it, players will give up on it as unprofitable and a week later it's suddenly easy gil. The market can be extremely volatile. You aren't entitled to maximum potential income, no one is "ruining" it on you. Accept these things as how it is and keep trying and you'll profit just fine.

And I am perfectly fine with undercuts. I get undercutted a lot. I also undercut. But, do it within' a reasonable price range. Don't crash the market just because you want to "sell it faster and get it out of your inventory". At that point you don't care how much it's worth so sell it to a vendor. Stop crashing the market.

No the market board is only for your server. You can use the cross-world feature to access each world's board on your data center, but you can't access them all from just your home world. Also you can only sell from your home world's board, so you can only affect other worlds as much as people are willing to world hop.

Gil has been in a strange place for many people having too much of it since the ARR days as is, part of housing was to help by being a gil sink and that isn't enough even if it was done in a way that every player could purchase it so long as they have the gil. EX the amount of players with multiple ones and still having spare gil exceeding half the player base.
