Make sure you have Level 46 Action "Truth of Mountains" (Miner) and/or "Truth of Forests" (Botanist) skill activated in order to detect and see those nodes.
You will also need to have enough GP stored to use Level 50 Action "Toil of the Mountaineer" (Miner) and/or "Toil of the Pioneer" (Botanist), which require 300 GP, in order to Reveal the out-of-reach items on the node.
Lastly, before you open a Unspoiled or Legendary Node, make sure you have enough GP to use the node, as if you open one and then close it, it will poof until it's next spawn time.

The "Toil of the Mountaineer/Pioneer" actions are not necessary as such. One can simply use one or more gathering actions to reveal an out-of-reach item. With good enough stats a single gathering attempt will be enough to reveal the item, and then one can use those GP on other things.
