With how MP and Piety will be in 5.0, those sort of fights might be something interesting to see play out.
The question is.. will they think to do things like that; or will they stick with their traditional formula of fights to not rock the boat?
They seem to not want to rock the boat in general, as that's their whole reason for not wanting to re-balance some tank invulnerable abilities; people would complain too much.

I dunno.. i'd like to see them, but I've not seen any fights that aren't bashing the bad guy with a stick until he falls over, so i dunno if i'm jaded or just rightfully sceptical.

I agree. They definitely like the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy.

Then again, I look at the Astrologian card changes and think that maybe they don't mind a bit of player complaints if it means having jobs in a given role more balanced out.

I wish but for healers and tanks it seems the sky is falling lol I wish we could wait to give feedback after the first raid tier like we did in SB but people already have a disposition on changes that haven’t even been implemented yet.

I am Tank and I'm happy with our changings? There is nothing what I can consider as "sky is falling". It's better to wait the release anyway.

I've seen a few folks throwing a fit that is akin to when SE did the right thing and killed Cleric Stance. "My stance dancing!" But that's the most extreme I've seen it get.

Oh well, saw it too. Can't really get it, because... there was not any real stance dancing, to be quite honest. If your party is okay, you will be in dps stance 99.9% of the time (except general dungeons under big pulls). If "being in dps stance" = "stance dancing" then I'm even more glad they finally removed it.

That sounds like the old 'healing spells do damage to undead trick' which has been a part of the FF series since.. well... the beginning I think. It was even a thing back in FFXI (as it is throughout most earlier FF games), and due to a bug that occured where the calculation used to determine how much damage they would do glitched and did far far more damage than it was supposed to, players being what they are quickly discovered this bug and exploited it for it was worth (using it to almost instant-kill certain undead bosses and NMs) - the bug was not only fixed SE determined that it was an unauthorised exploit and so mass-banned players that had used the exploit. It became a rather unpleasant business all round when it was all said and done.

It seems SE want to avoid a repeat of this whole sordid affair so thus that trick was all but made utterly useless here. As FFXIV does not have any kind of elemental damage any more (with the exception of Eureka) it is a moot point anyway.

Y'know.. i gotta wonder how they rationalized it was an exploit though. Healing being damaging to undead has been around forever, and if i recall correctly, you could cast heals on any enemy mob if you actually wanted to. It seems like a natural attempt to use curative magic against undead enemies, and how was the player-base to know it was an exploit? To any rational person, it would seem like a gameplay feature they didn't balance properly.

Not much else to say on the main topic.. just found this interesting.

Another idea I really like is adding in more frequent healing procs, like how sometimes cure will proc a freecure to get you to use Cure II, but make actual healing "combos" if that makes sense? I feel like that could make healing more fun and varied, action-wise. I dunno how everyone else feels about that though.

No thank you, I've run Sastasha before. I already know I hate it.
