I wish I could side with DocMog on this, as I was too once an avid "leave FFXIV alone" supporter from alpha 1. I thought SE was holding back the vast world of Eorzea, I was wrong. I said I'm sticking to FFXIV for the long haul (and I am) they changed the way SP works in groups, I was appalled. DocMog still with blinders on made a Youtube video of how to solo 10k SP/hr, this is a MMO! not a solo affair! SE changed Grp SP dynamics back to a more palatable level despite how DocMog shouted from the mountain tops that nothing was wrong the water is fine soapbox of youtube. Players want a change and there are so many great ideas floating around this forum and DocMog seems to be digging his heels in further and further with each suggested change to FFXIV.

DoctorMog this game has HUGE potential. But not in it's current state. Some parts of the game need that scalpel to refine systems and other parts of the game need the sledgehammer to make way for renovations.

This game needs change.

Great point OP. I like the armoury system. I like the battles. Alot of the "Skeleton" of this game is good, there is just not alot of ways to implement it such as instancing, reasons to group, or rewards or goals to work towards. I think that has been to main complaint too. There was the UI issues and the fact that the world is empty of goals.

I got the game and was loving it, than five days later the tragedy in Japan happened. ; ;

I agree for the most part, the game just needs minor tweaks to things and some other things. My play time is to low to make huge accusations for the really big changes//sledgehammer type thing at this moment.
As for content, I'm sure its on the way.

I've always seen this game as "the skeleton of a great game".. There are things I think need tweaking, but overall just for balance / user friendliness.. I'd agree with not changing parts..

I agree that the game needs more tweaks than major changes. Content will come, I'm not worried about that. I personally enjoy the fact that I can duo most things with my husband, it's more practical for me(and more enjoyable)
I'm not saying the game is perfect as is(chocobo anyone?) but I would be devastated if there are HUGE changes made.

i love the direction the game had. i believe this game needs some tweaks and fixes and not a sledgehammer to knock everything down they had built and redo it all. content content content and then the minor fixes would fix most of the issues in this game. i am also one that voted yes for major changes, but with the line of questioning ripping out everything we have worked for was not a big change i was of the opinion was in their minds. the question of if you want major changes is a very loaded question and these were not the type of major changes i voted for.

remember this a major change would be getting rid of our good graphics and make this look and play exactly like wow. would you be happy if you voted yes and that's what happened?

if they had worded the question different than the do you want big changes i will be the game would have had alot more than 30% support. the changes yes we wanted, but the kind of changes discussed on here not so much.

I just sit back and breathe easy when I remember that the nonsense suggestions made in the general discussion area of the forums will be widely disregarded by any developer. SE are using player polls to decide the direction of the game, not suggestions made on this forum.

I also checked the box that said I would welcome major changes, but I would most certainly not embrace any of the changes suggested on these forums. Developers know better than to listen to every stupid suggestion that is posted on these forums. Really, ideas like pets, PvP, etc. are laughable when you consider the current state of the game. I'll perhaps worry more about those being implemented in 2-3 years but at the moment they're a pipe dream of people with nothing better to do.
