It is a known fact that there’s people who specifically use emotes just to harass people. They can be used as a weapon just like chat can. I had someone who spent two years harassing me. He HATED me for kicking him out of my previous FC for harassing the women in it (I was the leader). He got in trouble for verbally abusing me, so he started following me and spammed emotes at me. Would go out of his way to teleport where I did and hunt me down to do it. Shoot, I was doing maps with my fc and he hunted us down. Thank goddess for the aquapolis portal that got us out of there. At the time he wouldn’t get in trouble for spamming, so it was his best tool to try and bother me. I put up with it for two years, of which I hid in my personal plot and didn’t come out because I didn’t want to deal with it.

If that bothering me makes me have thin skin, fine, but he had the intent to use emotes as a form of harassment. The evil intent was there, 100%. Harassment is harassment no matter what tool they use to do it. I’m sure there’s people who abuse emotes to harass strangers for fun, because they think they won’t get in trouble for it.

I also remember back in ARR when DRGs had a certain skill that they could spam. Don’t remember what it was, I just know they jumped up and spun their spear into the ground, and it was really really loud. On my server, someone decided it was funny to make a macro that spammed that skill, and it went on all day every day in mor dhona. It was the most annoying sound, and it sucked having to go there for buying gear lol. I assume enough people reported them, because eventually they disappeared and mor dhona was FINALLY quiet again.
