To each their own I guess.
Is an emote-spamming lala with high-pitched laughter following someone everywhere they go some kind of friendly behaviour I've previously been unaware of? My thoughts are if that were so, when the person being spammed moves away from the spammer not once, but twice, they, the spammer, should be at least clued in on the fact their advances are annoying and unwelcome. And my goodness, why on earth would I want to encourage any further communication with such a person by telling them to leave me alone after moving away from them? (not least because I don't think I had chat figured out at that point.) I can only imagine then they really do think they have an active audience and have been given licence to behave even more childishly.

So, "thin-skinned thing", is it? Yes, I'd certainly own to that, but given I have social anxiety which I'm working on that's hardly surprising. Other players may not be the sort of people who care about that sort of thing however, and you know what? That's okay. It's not on everyone to know about who has what going on when you just come across them in a game. Though, I would think this very thing alone would give a wise person pause when seeking to interact, but like you said, to each their own.

Above that, however, I own a greater displeasure to general rude, disruptive, bullying and pointless behaviour, which the emote spam stupidity falls under. People who are actively seeking to upset or hurt others for their own amusement are the problem here and let's face it, it's just simple good manners to be decent to people.

Further, you're right it's irrelevant what game this behaviour happens in (I wasn't having a "go" at this particular game - it's just it's the only place this kind of behaviour has happened to me - the fact I've been playing it consistently over the last 16 months or so is because I changed my mind, and gave it another go. This is also irrelevant, given I said in my post it wasn't the sole reason I unsubbed and I wasn't truly finished with GW2. My apologies if that was unclear). Does that make it okay? No! Of course it doesn't. Some people have a propensity towards infantile attitudes which they have a compulsion to display to others, and they often think they can get away with it. I say no to that. Honestly, I feel sorry for people who act like this; I have to wonder just how bad their lives are that they think it's okay to behave like this to other people. There is never an excuse to abuse or harass anyone, and I don't think it sensible to let such behaviour go unchallenged.
