You are the tank; you decide the pace and what gets pulled because that's your role. If they want to decide that, they should level a tank and start tanking.

There's not a whole lot a tank can do "wrong" with their rotation. Used your enmity combo or enmity AoE? That's what tanks are supposed to do. Used your DPS combo and AoE action? It's difficult to see how that is problematic either if you're holding aggro.

If enemies weren't dying fast enough due to your tank rotation, maybe they should look inwards, because they are called "DPS" for a reason and it's by definition their job to DPS them down, not yours.

It's rare, but this sort of thing happens sometimes.

Any dps/healer that pulls mobs before tank deserves to be devoured by the mob lol. I absolutely will not pick up anything that's not pulled by me as the tank. As for small/big pulls it depends on the tank, some tanks like to test big pull first to see how the healer heals or small pull to see how they handle that; some tanks ask the healer first which is fine, there's no right/way to decide on pulls. The rule I use is that if it's a non-leveling dungeon I'll do big pulls, if it's a leveling dungeon I'll do small pulls, it's a good rule in my opinion.

Don't underestimate what can be done with emote spamming.

One time, late at night, when I had leveled my first job to somewhere in the low 50s, I had just completed a job quest and I was standing in Gridania, organizing my inventory and gear. I couldn't see much going on around me, as having those tabs open took up a lot of space on my screen (especially with the smaller monitor I had at the time). After a moment, I hear some grunting. Sounds like a couple of male voices.

I figure, "Oh, it's just a couple of guys dueling," which I now realize doesn't really happen here, but it's a common thing in most MMOs, so I ignore it and continuing poking around in my inventory.

I then notice it's been going on for a pretty long time. Also, I'm not hearing any weapon or spell noises. I close my tabs to see what's going on, because that constant grunting is starting to annoy me a little.

I see about eight naked males crowding around my character, starting and aborting some emote over and over again, which sort of made it look like they were dryhumping her.

They all continued to follow me around town until I teleported to another city. I didn't think to report them at the time (I was just annoyed and wanted it to stop), but I really should've.

One person's "Eh it's just good fun" is another person's "This is making me uncomfortable and I want it to stop."

The people acting like emote spam or general ridicule is perfectly fine and dandy - hey, you do you. Personally I ignore it or go about my business then tp away. But if someone is doing something to the point it's actually hurting someone else, then that person has a right to report it - "thin skinned" or otherwise. The GMs will handle whether it's an actionable offense or not. It's not up to you or even the person reporting to make that decision.

Edit: This actually reminds me of a time a few years back when the Tower raids were new. I was a new tank and, while I don't entirely remember what sparked this sudden attack, a bunch of other people started ridiculing me. My guess is I missed a mechanic or something. But they were constantly hounding me throughout the whole raid, stating stuff like "I bet she dies first" and so on. It wasn't fun and I couldn't just tp away. It was the first time I reported people, and the GM told me specifically that actions were being made on the persons in question.

Fact is - it's all in good fun until you start blatantly hurting someone, and that threshold differs between people. I suggest instead of adding to the ridicule, you put your feet in their shoes. Or just, y'know, not be a dick. I mean, that works too.

Okay, because I wandered into those places and see that kind of nasty stuff happen there. But it was a group of lalafell following this poor Roe dude.

I'm sorry but that's just how online games work. Sometimes people will emote spam a rando to get a reaction out of em. It's all good fun. If that was harrassment to you, stick to single player games.

Or learn manners and learn to be a nice human being for goodness sake.
It's really not that hard to be nice. If people wanna tank or think they can do better, then go do it.
Not sit around and be childish. OP did extra good by not talking and just vote kicked.
He also said they said some snide remarks as well.
We come here to play a game and have fun, not get bullied and harassed.

it wasnt the emote spam it was him stopping in the middle of a dungeon run to throw insults instead of dpsing a mobs they just would not help and would mock me because i didn't avoid a set of mobs. like being down a dps.
